Valentine's Day stories

Post by Matt Morrison »

Did this shit really pass C4C by entirely?
Never has there been such a damning example of the truth in the cliché of boring Internet people being good at word games and shit at love.

Or is that wrong? Did you all woo the heavens out of your respecting partners? Tell some stories here.

------------------------

Heather doesn't like flowers that much as they just die and she's shit at keeping them, so I filled the room with 28 pink, red, and pinky red balloons. Looked cool as, though she keeps getting pissed off with the fact that they are (somehow, it's pretty amazing) STILL all fully inflated, three weeks later, and stuffed behind the TV to keep them out of the way. She reckons they're going to explode one day when the TV has been on for ages and gets all hotty.

I also decorated the table all nice with candles and pink and purple shredded tissue paper and red heart-shaped confetti. And cooked an excellent meal with all courses and that. (I heated up the Sainsbury's Valentine special.) Her card had a nice soppy message inside and a nice soppy "Wonderful Wife" badge.

So anyway the real reason I started this thread is cos she keeps pestering me to post the Countdown-based Valentine's poem that she wrote for me inside my lovely and frontedly-hilarious Moonpig card. Enjoy:

Letters are white,
Backgrounds are blue,
Duh duh, duh duh,
Duh duh duh duh, Dooooooooo

Moonpig is brilliant - here's the picture off the front of the card I got:

Not telling you what was written inside 'cos it's pwivate.

We had a relaxed evening in, I cooked a nice meal and then had to drink a whole bottle of wine by myself 'cos he's on antibiotics.

That is brilliant. I wish I was going out with Heather.

In answer to the thread, we both said "Valentine's Day is a waste of money" and that was that.

I took my girlfriend out for a meal at a fairly expensive restaurant, and she got me these. Not sure who was more happy.

Coincidental timing with your soppy compliments on Corby? That'd be an odd pairing if it's what you're angling for.

Well, ok, it's no one on Apterous or C4C or anything like that. I can promise you that, and I promise I never break promises! I am saying no more.

Hang on, what about Rhys Benjamin? We were all hoping that this would work out.

That's what I was wondering. I think Thomas Carey's been muscling in on Rhys's action though, and James Nguyen said he's been phoning her daily too.

He hasn't been 'phoning me daily'! How could he have my number? Well, why would I give it to someone off the internet? THINK CYBER-SAFETY (I made that word up, and what I meant was Cyber-bullying), everyone!! Boys, boys, boys! I do not like boys full stop. Only some boys are alright and some are a tiny bit nice. Not saying who, though. Plus, I can't really meet boys that I know off the internet; they could be the total opposite of what they seem! Have you guys not been taught about cyber-bullies?!?!?! Ok, listen up, the catergories of boys are: Complete, total and utter idiots, really stupid, not bad, alright and very nice.

My advice for when you're old enough to start dating would be: stick with the ones in the first category ('Complete'). Otherwise you'll just be inviting disappointment.

I think Andy was referring to the fact that most of my romantic conquests have been legless.
