STALKIER/STARLIKE is actually one of three 8-letter stems I have come across so far, where you can make only one 9-letter word, therefore making it a goatdown conundrum :D.

NB: If I had another 24 I could do a quiz :lol:.

For round 5 can't you just do;

(100 X 10) - (8 X 8) + (7-3)

?

Well you can if you want, but you're not very close to the target. Sorry.

This would make 946, so it would be 10 away, sorry.

I assume that because a solution to 956 wasn't posted above in the recap, 957 is the closest you can get?

Whoops sorry. I think I stupidly saw one of the 8s as a 6 on TV and just wrote the solution here. Too bad I didn't check it and register that 8 X 8 isn't 48 haha. Apologies. :oops:

When reading your recap, I was very puzzled. I was sure I'd have remembered if an annoying 8 year old had been mentioned in the clue to the second TTT. Then I read properly what you'd written. :lol:

The clue was "Washed thoroughly, and put off Durade".
