Welcome one and all to Week 11 of Series 63 of Countdown. ;) :) :D

I might not be striving for Perfection, but someone who is is our very own Eoin Monaghan. 3 centuries last week have seen a lot of interest circle round this Northern Ireland youngster. Can he impress again today :?:

His opponent today is David Rudd, an ex-Krypton Factor contestant. How do I know this :?: Let's just say I read a lot online. ;) .

Back in DC, after impressing on his debut in the last series is comedian Dave Spikey.

Ryan will be around later with the recap. ;) :) :D

Seriously Mark, how much longer are you going to show the members of this forum such disrespect, especially all those that have tried to be helpful, by continuing to suggest bollocks that you can't be bothered to check for validity on Lexplorer? It's not once or twice, it's every time you post in the spoilers threads. I don't think you realise how annoying it is, and more to the point how disrespectful and unappreciative you come across.

Well done on another great performance again Eoin. Speedy conundrum. :)

And @ Mark, its sort of an unwritten rule that you should check the validity of your words before posting them on spoilers threads, just go on the word check box on apterous to see if a word is valid.

It's not unwritten at all, that's my point. You know me, I'm too much of a pussy to have a go at someone unless they really deserve it, but Mark is taking the biscuit.

Another top ton 8-)

Don't want to tempt fate, but I wonder how close to the octochamp 8 game record score, Eoin can get. How much would he need to average in the next 4 games to get the record, assuming Eoin wins them all?

He needs 482 to break the 8 game record, so thats an average of 120.5 points per game. Certainly possible for Eoin to attain IMO.

Would take a few nines and excellent consistency to happen though.

Job Eoin. Got my hopes up a little when I was 13-0 up on you after two rounds, but after the 5th I was 5 down and was never gonna keep up with you. Savage stuff altogether.

Fantastic performance, Eoin. Bar the first 2 rounds, you got a MAX game. Well in :!: ;) :) :D

Too bad you didn't go with PEGGIES and ODONATA.

Yay, shame, SPIKES at least would have given me a joint high score.

Cheers, it is certainly possible for Eoin, I think he will just miss it though and be around third or fourth on the all time list. Will be interesting to see how close he gets. :)

Well done Eoin on another cracking victory. My kid bro has been getting into your games and was quite concerned you'd had some sort of brain injury when you didn't put the S on SPIKE. Needless to say I imminently told him to STFU. Well played :)

Yeah, well played. The landlady of a pub we went to said she watched Countdown today and was well impressed with that 14 year old champion who got the conundrum instantly. I asked her if she hated watching youngsters being clever and she said no, it was impressive viewing. She said she was happy with COW in one round. Ho hum, apterous is killing Countdown.

Haven't followed the show for ages until you came on... but I genuinely hope you beat the 8-game record! You're far more worthy of the position than I am, and more importantly come across as a thoroughly likeable young chap. Excellent stuff!
