6+4+1 = 11 x (6+4) = 110 + 75 = 185

Alternatively
(75-1)x(6+4)/4=185

MODERATE as a beater for round 2.
VOMITING as a beater for round 8.
PERCOID as an equaller for round 7.
AEROSOL and ROSEOLA as equallers for round 9.
REBATED and AERATED as equallers for round 13.
(75-6-6)x(4-1) = 189. 189-4=185 as an equaller for round 14.

I had DINKIER too, Richard, but it wasn't an equaller in that particular round since DC had KINDLIER. I toyed with IRONLIKE^ in that round and PAENIOID^ in another but I never would have risked them and it turns out they were both bogus

So where do you lot get your anagram shufflers from?
Who in everyday language uses Percoid? Unless you're a fisherman that is.

I think you were thinking of TAENIOID.

Nah, I wasn't, besides I'd be more liable to spot IDEATION (and I suspect Mr. Priest would too!). I was reasoning that PETALOID is valid and AMOEBOID etc so maybe something can be shaped like paeony but I never seriously considered it.

Charlie Reams wrote a little program that does the searches against a dictionary by Jim Bentley.
In times gone by I'd have thought about coming up with a version that uses indexed reference points on the dictionary to speed up the search, but since it responds immediately it doesn't seem worth the effort.
