What's your skin colour?

The new and improved features on the site have caused me to change my skin. I used to be very happy with the Aerogreen, having given all settings a thorough fiddling when I joined (as you do). However, now we've got new and improved functionality - and likin' it very much - I just wondered what everyone else had.

Prosilver all the way baby. The original and best.

I tried Prosilver ages ago, thought it was awful. What are these new features?

AeroGreen is hideous.

I use ProSilver because it's much easier to browse from the small screen on my phone.[/top tip]

Takes one to skin an elephant.

I use AeroGreen becasue it has a View active topics link.

Maybe the ProSilver has too, but I didn't see it at first glance.

It does indeed. It's my home page, in fact, and it's super useful.

Well me being the n00b that I am didn't even know about these skins. I just tried prosilver out and I didn't like it. Probably just because I know nothing other than the aero green one.

I think I hate people who use AeroGreen more than I hate racists.

Surely View Unread Posts is more useful? It's what my c4c bookmark points to.

Found it now, Charlie. Difference is, on prosilver, the link is only on the main index page which I rarely go to. Whereas on aerogreen it's on all pages.

I've now switched to prosilver, as there are a few other features which look better on prosilver than on aerogreen. So that makes the voting wrong - until I change back, of course.

Aye, the lack of an active topics link was what annoyed me about Prosilver, I remember now.

I use AeroGreen. Prosilver is nice enough, but I just can't get used to having avatars on the right-hand side. It just seems more natural for them to be on the left-hand side, "introducing" the posts, as it were. I know, I'm a weirdo.

Back to AeroGreen now. Got fed up with what I'm used to not being in its customary place. I'll need convincing, if I'm to go back to Prosilver

I would have thought you'd prefer Prosilver Jim - it's easier on the aye.

I use Prosilver. I know Aerogreen might have its advantages, but it's just plain ugly. It's like comparing a modern SUV to those boxy '50s Land Rovers.

SmoothBLUE: the perfect combination of a View active topics button at the top of every page and harmonious graphics and visuals.

Shame it's gone now

Yeah, sorry about that. Porting the Like feature to each skin was several hours of work and, given that you were the only person using it, it just didn't seem worth the hassle. Welcome back to the mainstream.

I voted for the wrong colour and can't retract my vote. I'm using ProSilver.

I think it's pretty revealing that 50% of the people bothered to switch away from the default. I don't particularly like AeroGreen either but I also don't like the forum looking like every other phpBB forum on first look.

Maybe it's time we talked about me designing a new skin again. Mmmmm... SleekBlack anyone?

I can imagine that being popular. Once you've gone SleekBlack, you'll never... oh, whatever.

I much prefer Prosilver, though it's a shame that the photo of Jeff and Rachel at the top of the page has been replaced recently by a default phpBB graphic.

BREAKING NEWS: I've switched to Prosilver in order to see the lovely logo and after a day, have realised that I should have done it a long time ago.

Aerogreen- I H8 Prosilver.

Yes I used this joke ages ago and realised that there's no H8 bus.

I've lost all respect I ever had for you. Probably for a second time, but I'd forgotten about this post. Active topics is better in every way.

And you've linked to the wrong thing. New posts instead of unread posts. Such an amateur.

Unread Posts is far superior, and me putting the wrong link doesn't undermine the truth of that.

What's so good about unread posts? Do you never refer back to stuff? The new stuff will always be at the top anyway, except with your method, the stuff under it will be James Robinson recaps* rather than stuff you might want to click on.

So for me right now, unread posts gives me spoilers for the repeated game today and Questions you've always wanted answered. And the rest of the page is recaps. Active topics has those two at the top anyway, plus a load of other interesting topics I might want to revisit. Stuff I might have intended to reply to but didn't have time when I first saw them, so they're still there as a reminder. You are a maniac.

*Your recaps are great, James, but I don't normally click on individual recaps unless I'm looking for something specific.

Anyway, there was a reason I came across this topic. Are both skin colours still a thing? I can't find how to change it. I'm using the better one (prosilver). Are people still using aerogreen?

This thread lies dormant for 10 years. Gev comments on it quoting a 10 year old Jono comment and Jono replies within 9 minutes. 😂

Evidence, if any be needed, that we're all running out of things to do in lockdown.

I don't think so. I've dim memories of them getting washed away at the same time as likes disappeared.
