I know :( It's almost unfair to include bats and tigers in the same poll. It's like asking people to choose between pizza and Bach.

Dog still, but only because I have one and he'd be upset otherwise.

This new poll is relevant because a lot of mammals have been invented since then.

Haha, you creationist freak. They've evolved since the last poll, they haven't been invented.

I'm almost embarrassed to admit that I went for human. I regretted it instantly, and now can't change my vote.
I think it was just a response to how unimpressed I suddenly realised I was by mammals as I looked down the list. I really am not going to be popular after saying all this.

I voted camel ages ago but didn't want to post anything until I found this video of a camel chewing with loads of people around him admiring the scene, but I can't find it. It was shown during the build up to Algeria vs England on Match of the Day but I can't find it :(

Difficult one to vote on because of the different interpretations of the question. I went for human as my favourite living mammal, but if it had been favourite dead mammal, young sheep definitely.

A very good point. My latin skills are sadly lacking. Combining the two could be interesting though.

I like animals that look like they've been drawn by children.
Baby rhinos are properly ridiculous.

Here it is...

There is no universally agreed plural of "platypus" in the English language. Scientists generally use "platypuses" or simply "platypus". Colloquially the term "platypi" is also used for the plural, although this is technically incorrect and a form of pseudo-Latin; the correct Greek plural would be "platypodes".

You have a strange meaning 0f cruelty mister or mrs or miss. If we allow grey squirrels to increase, all wild life like song birds will be destroyed. This is why the Government introduced a culling programme which I presume is more cruel than a clean shot in the head. Grey squirrels are vermin imported from the U.S.A to decorate the landed estates of gentlemen. They destroy all song birds nests, eat the eggs, and kill newly hatched chicks. This has happened in my own garden, and when I kill a grey squirrel, I think of the song birds that I have saved. They have driven the red squirrels, which eat only vegetable matter, from the south, and it is mainly up north that red squirrels are now found, and I wonder how long they will survive. I do my bit for nature, our local fox loves squirrels and pigeons, and he visits my garden every day to see what I have served up for him.

Red and grey squirrels both eat bird eggs, and only when they can't find their preferred food (nuts and fungi). Grey squirrels also eat acorns while red ones don't, so if anything greys are less likely to be hungry enough to eat anything else.

Good point, but (there's always a but!) they're animals; look, if you were a squirrel (well, squirrels are animals just like us, so I suppose you could think of it as if it was you, but that thought would not be nice, really...!) would you like to be killed, or your family or friends to be killed, just because there are going to be too many of you? No. Although, then, like you said, they would increase; they're not very common now though, and if we kill too many, they'll soon be endangered.
