Spoilers For Monday May 17th 2010

Post by James Robinson »

So, with England going successful in the cricket at last, hopefully the mighty Huddersfield Town will roar onto Wembley tomorrow night, but that's nothing to do with Countdown, so let's get back to the business in hand.

Our new champ is Aptefroumite Danny Pledger, who put in a very assured performance on Friday to dispose the reigning champ, Steve Wilson. Could he reach the finals, just 3 and a half weeks away :?:

In DC, is possibly the last newbie of the series, as the guests for the next few weeks are Dr. Phil Hammond, Jon Gaunt and Paul Zenon for the finals week, although I don't know who's in for the first part of the finals (W/C 07/06/10), so that might not be true.

Either way, the DC guest is former world record holder of the 110m hurdles, and former runner-up in Strictly Come Dancing, Colin Jackson. Another good choice for DC, methinks.

Howard will be along later with the recap.

Also had QUIESCENT for 9. BETAINES I think was in one round for a beater and pretty sure COAMING was in round for DC beater also.

Was that the funniest conundrum guess ever?

No, it would have quite a way to go to beat GANDISEEG

Possibly.

Ha! Ok definitely not the funniest but from my short time watching Countdown definitely the worst. At least when I made incorrect conundrum guesses they contained all the bloody letters available but not neccessarily in the right order i.e. INTERSWAP and PREDATURE

Me too with UNEYELING and RASPILLED, but there you go. GANDISEEG will probably never be topped.

3rd Numbers Alt.: (5 x 5 x (8 + 3)) - 6 = 269
