Well, it's general election day today, so hopefully, all you will have been to your polling stations in your constituencies, so you can now forget about politics till this evening, as Countdown will be taking centre stage soon.

Likable Lee is now a half-octochamp, so if he wins today, he'll be within sniffing distance of a place in the finals in 5 weeks time.

Can he make it to 5 wins, or have I just cursed another contestant in this series :?:

I'll be back later for the recap. ;) :) :D

(I wonder if Countdown was preparing for a Tory government when they changed the set to blue :?: :? )

That Humble woman definitely said UNDARED rather than UNDEAD in round 4 or whatever it was - unless she hasn't learnt how to speak yet. ;)

Susie did that thing that she's probably completely unaware of where she builds up a contestant's hopes only to dash them a fraction of a second later. COLLATER - "It is there... but only as OR"

And I'm not sure GROOVY had completely fallen out of fashion. As far as I'm aware people have always used it in a slightly piss-takey way, and that's all they do now (even if usage did increase slightly after Austin Powers).

A final vowel in R7 would have given DOMINANCE, while 5 vowels would have given MACEDOINE. Was annoyed when he went for too many consonants. >.>

This pissed me off too. 4 vowels in the round before would have given INWREATHE for nine also.

CONGAED in round 7 and DIOPTRE in round 11.

2nd Numbers Alt: ((75 - 3) x (8 + 1)) - 7 = 641

3rd Numbers Alt: (9 x 50) + 10 + 5 - 100 = 365

Another good win for Lee there. He could be the dark horse of the finals possibly.

And in round 12 the first 8 letters were SNFOAOZR and I was screaming for a D for SFORZANDO for 9. Sadly he went for a vowel (another O). Luckily the next consonant wasn't a D anyway.

DAVENED as a beater in round 4.

I've just 'watched' this, and I noticed that a final vowel in Round 2 would've given ELECTORAL. Coincidence?

Are you blind?
