MILF - the poll.

Ryan's just made me think about this. When we talk of MILFs, do we mean actual mothers? People of a certain age? Is it relative to the person using the term?

Answer here, and show your workings.

Should we be worried that it was thinking of Ryan that made you start this poll?

Abstained (for obvious reasons), though from a philosophical point I'd say not A. Don't forget you can have mothers whose uncles will be out of prison by the time their children start school, or the mother leaves school. :o

Yes, I want to do Ryan's mum, if that's what you're getting at.

Well quite. Hence the poll. MAKES YOU THINK, DOESN'T IT?

A great poll in my opinion.

A MILF is 5 years older than you Ryan? Haha.
I'm sure your definition of a GILF must end up about my age then, making me one of course (granddad you'd...)

Can be.

I am trying to popularise the term "PhDILF", but it's not working out for me :(

Definitely NOT in my case. My mother, had she still been alive today, would be 101.

My daughters are in the same generation as the mothers of some people here. So I need to be very careful how I vote. :)

You must've miscalculated here, there's no way she could be younger than you.

This proved much harder to decide than I expected. I eventually went for the third option, which (at present) is the modal choice. I wonder how I'll feel about it in 30 years, though.

Shouldn't there be a FILF option?

In a poll about MILFs?

No.

I was counting in hexadecimal, Charlie.

I've changed my vote to the top option due to the following line of thinking:

* MILFs are presumably unusual, since we define a specific term for them.
* Attractive women over the age of 30 (or 24, Ryan) are not that unusual, so it cannot merely be a question of age.
* Becoming an actual mother involves certain physical changes which are typically perceived to be negative in terms of sexual attractiveness.
* Therefore an actual mother who is still attractive is unusual.
* Therefore it is more likely that MILF is intended to refer to actual mothers.

While I don't necessarily agree, I enjoyed greatly the detail in your reasoning as it was what I was hoping for when I said "show your workings". I give this answer 3 little green chilli symbols.

I'm not sure I agree with myself TBH, but it was the best logical argument I could come up with.

This is a very difficult question and deserves some serious thought.

At first I was leaning towards the first answer - Mother (literally, someone who has created life) - but further consideration leads me to the conclusion that this definition is far too broad. You could be a mother at 12 or whatever, but certainly not a MILF. Conversely, many centenarians will also be mothers, but they are not MILFs either (unless you're Howard, or have some weird-ass fetish). So that option is out.

The second option - Somebody-old-enough-to-be-my-mother - is superficially attractive. But it is too subjective. Thinking about some MILFs that I have been intimate with (these encounters occurred in dreams, but that doesn't make them any less real), Gillian Anderson is definitely a top MILF but she's only 3 years older than me, so isn't old enough to be my mother. Also I would consider Lois out of Family Guy a MILF, but she is a cartoon character so you couldn't really fuck her anyway, unless you made a lifesized effigy out of latex and cushion stuffing, not that I've considered doing anything like that or anything, and anyone who says I have is lying. So option 2's no good either.

So it looks as though option 3 - Somebody-old-enough-to-be-the-mother-of-anyone-of-consensual-age - must be my answer. To be honest though, I was unsure if this covers all the bases, so felt I should do some original research. Google informs me that milf.com is one of the top spots for free milf porn, pictures, videos and movies. And indeed it is! Currently their top film is "Fuck My Mommy And Me" and to quote some of the blurb: "Mom always said it was polite to share, and at Fuck My Mommy And Me, they keep it all in the family! It's every guy's ultimate fantasy! To fuck, not only a super hot MILF, but her horny daughter too! Now imagine fucking them at same damn time!"

This would indeed seem to be conclusive. However, it would seem that milf.com's definition of a MILF doesn't broadly fit with mine, as many of their so-called MILFs would appear to be bog-standard crack whores. I'm not sure their authority in this matter is to be trusted.

In conclusion: Undecided. Investigating further.

Another good answer Jim, even if it didn't actually come to any sort of conclusion. I give this one three doggy paw-prints.

Having discussed this with the wife, a new theory has been proposed. When I explained my reasoning to CF, I said that I think the MILF age varies as you get older, but he reckoned that once you're past 'dad age' you're not allowed to have MILFs. He reckons a MILF has to be at least 15 years older than you, and that once you're past a certain age "that just leaves grannies".

Make of that what you will, I just thought I'd throw that in there in the hope of some raccoon paw prints from the Corbster.

I don't see the problem with centenarians here. I would say that centenarians are definitely in the right age group - it's just happens that none of them are attractive. If there were any attractive 100-year-olds, they would be MILFs. It's only at the younger end where the definition is a bit ropey.

My own definition is quite narrow. For me, a MILF must be known to have a daughter who is sexually attractive, and retain sufficient attractiveness herself for the question "which do I prefer?" to leave me at least in some doubt.

I suppose this is closest to 3, but sufficiently different possibly to justify voting for 4. Unfortunately it's spilt wrong so I'll have to abstain.
