Spoilers For Monday March 29th 2010

Another week is upon us, and Countdown returns to normal after the celebration of 5,000 editions.

So, we have Dave Wilkinson as champ after he won every show last week. Why does that sound familiar :?:

Oh, because this time last week, we were looking forward to seeing if our own Kevin Davis would win his 6th show. Quite a lot of people seem to want to lose on their 6th show this series. Dave would be the 4th person to do that if he loses today.

In DC this week, following on from Gregg Wallace and the cameo by Des Lynam on Friday, we have one half of the How Clean Is Your House? team. Well, I say one half, more like the bigger half, as Kim Woodburn is in DC for her 2nd stint, nearly 4 years after her previous stint, although she has been busy in the jungle since then of course.

So, will the curse of 5 take another person out, or is it just superstition on my part :?: Who knows :? :?:

Notably the winner of this game has the privilege of taking on a girl forumite in Tuesday's game. Our very own Anna Woodward. Yay!

Yes, apart from all those who 'wanted' to lose on their first, second, third, fourth, fifth and seventh.

A marvellous observation nonetheless. ;)

1 away for 826 on the numbers.

(25x7-9)x5-(5-1). Rach's fave method of split multiplication.

Did I hear Jeff slip up saying "you've been doing that all week" after it was a crucial conundrum?

Edit: The more I read this the more I'm convincing myself that it makes sense.

Also (50 x 5) + ( (10-7) x 9)) = 277.

Ah - you've taken to including quiz questions as well, excellent. ;)
How would we know? You might have been listening to your Ipod or something. As if anyone can possibly know what you heard.
Why not tell us? Did you? Surely you must know. If you don't, who does?

Did i have an egg salad sandwich for lunch?
Have i told you lately that i love you?
How much is that doggy in the window?
We could go on forever, and probably will.

Yes.

I do. This question is void.
D Eadie wrote: Did i have an egg salad sandwich for lunch?
No - you ate a venison burger.
D Eadie wrote: Have i told you lately that i love you?
Every night. You think it in the mornings too but keep it to yourself.
D Eadie wrote: How much is that doggy in the window?
£24. How Dutch is that moggy in the window? 25%.

Happy?

Why would i want to eat the Arsenal manager?

It was indeed an egg salad sandwich.

Alternative to egg salad anyone?

Am I the only one who did the second numbers (25x3+3)x(6+4)+7?

Please tell me I'm not (though I was quite pleased at beating Rachel!!!)

I haven't been following his games that closely, but from what I have seen could the champion be on for a "record" octotal if he makes 8?

Gavin Chipper wrote:I haven't been following his games that closely, but from what I have seen could the champion be on for a "record" octotal if he makes 8?
Yes, he currently has 472 points from his 6 games, an average of 78.67. The current record for the lowest octochamp total in the 15-round era is held by Chris McHenry from Series 55, who got 643 points, an average of 80.38.

So, if Dave continues his average, his total would be around the 629/630 mark, 13-14 less than Chris' total. So, some history could be made in 2 days time.

Clearly you are, Kevin. A nice sense of normality here.

Having said that, it seems that I might've been the only one to have got 826 in the 1st numbers by doing (((9 x 5) - 7 - 5) x 25) + 1.

Interestingly, I played Kevin on Apterous yesterday and the conundrum was the same one as in the show. :o Unfortunately, at that time Kevin hadn't watched the show, so I'd slightly spoilt it for him, when I mentioned the weird coincedence.
