If anyone is interested...

Can only assume (nearly) everyone on the forum was at work or something.

Yes we watched it here. All perfectly harmless and tasteful, except for the bit where the female presenter (with Eamonn Holmes), mentioned we'd be "going strong for 18 years now, since 1982" -then we had at the end, to Jeff "when IS the 5000th by the way, i only ask because somebody called James said it's already been on"?

 Bit of a shame that they haven't got it on their ITV Player. I was gonna Sky+, but I stupidly forgot.

Btw, that female presenter is Ruth Langsford, if you needed to know, or indeed, care.

As you can tell, I watch too much TV. :D

I watched it :D

Rach seemed very nervous, her voice was much shakier than on Countdown where she is much more confident these days. Or maybe she just had a cold or something. Eamonn mentioned Carol an unnecessarily large number of times as well, the stupid fat cunt (Eamonn that is, not Carol).

Rach also said that Kate had just had a baby today, so congratulations Kate :)

I was told that she'd lost her voice while shouting for Manchester United at last Saturday's game with Liverpool. She did deny that, saying that the voice had been going a day before that game.

Yes, I also caught this snippet of news about Kate Horton when I saw the back end of the programme just before going to work.

Congratulations Kate, as I'm sure the birth of your daughter Jessica today will mean a lot more to you than the 5,000th episode/edition of Countdown.

On reflection though .... I have to say - it was nice timing on your part!

I attended a studio recording on Tuesday this week, her voice was a bit hoarse then.

Thanks for this Sally. Rachel really did sound a bit hoarse, didn't she?

Yes to post-watershed Countdown.
