Welcome one and all to this monumental occasion of the recap of the first game and a third of Calendar Countdown, or rather its pilot show(s).

I've mainly been pushed into this because seemed to want me to do it.

So, in case you haven't watched it, the rules are slightly different to the Countdown that we all know and love today.

In the first 2 letters rounds, of which the duration of the rounds are 45 and 30 seconds respectively, only the person with the longer word wins, but if it's a tie, only the person who picked the letters receives the points. P.S. There are only 8 letters picked in this one, rather than 9 in normal Countdown.

The same applies with the 2 two numbers rounds, of which both of them are 45 seconds long, if both contestants have either got the target or are the same difference away, then the person who chose the numbers gets the points. Also, the points are slightly different, in that it's 5 points for achieving the target, 3 for being within 5 of the target or 1 for just being the closest, no matter how far away.

The fourth round was a buzzer round, in which the first person to buzz in with a correct, legal word won the amount of points equal to the length of that word.

The last round is the Pre-Select Word Round, where an 8-letter word has been jumbled behind the scenes. If what the contestant declares matches with the word inside an envelope held by Richard, then the contestant gets 12 points, not 10, but 12 points.

Have you got it :?: If not, don't worry, be glad that the powers that be didn't stick to this format.
