Spoilers For Monday February 22nd 2010

The weekend's over yet again, it likes to just end quickly, doesn't it :?:

But, luckily Countdown is now back on our screens, so lets where we've got up to.

Heather Badcock is our 3-times champion, so if she wins every show this week, she'll be the 2nd octochamp of Series 62. It would also make her the first female octochamp since Cate Henderson nearly 11 months ago. :o

In DC this week, we have an all-female pairing, as Susie is joined by newcomer Jenni Falconer, probably best known for her presenting skills at GMTV and with the National Lottery draws, although she has also been the relief host of that FIVE show Wordplay, which some of us who like things like Countdown, would probably quite like.

Well, that's me done for now, I'll just be continuing my double celebration from this weekend, after getting my first max game on Apterous yesterday: http://apterous.org/viewgame.php?game=195404 , as well as seeing my brilliant team win in Hartlepool on Saturday, although I was slightly disappointed by the Town fans chanting "Jeff Stelling, he's a w****r, he's a w****r!" :x

After CAMPIES was disallowed, Jenni said that if you put the S at the front, you could have SCAMPI, yet she implied it was spelt SCAMPIE which is not in.

Hate to be negative, but that audience must have been full of duds if nobody could spot ESCORTING.

I was wondering if GERONTICS, the science of the aged (presumably), was a plural or not, until I remembered that RECOSTING was one of those plausible words that has a valid anagram.

COSTERING isn't there either, but that's what I saw.

SURMISED was in an early round as DC-equaller.

Good constest today, obviously played in a very friendly spirit.

I saw costering too and checked on apterous but it is disallowed.
Thought it might have some connection with costermonger.

I found CORSETING was no good, though it'd be OK in Scrabble (so is SECTORING :( ).

Chambers Word Wizard http://www.chambersharrap.co.uk/chamber ... ds.py/main is useful for cheating on conundrums.
