The game. No matter who's presenting it, who the contestants are or who's in DC, I watch it because I love playing the game itself. It's just a shame I lose more often than I win! That said, i'd be more than happy if Tim Vine was in DC every week!

The length of the programme was my choice under the 'Others' heading.

Not everything complimentary is sycophancy. No wonder this place gets called negative.

It was. I didn't understand Charlie's long words.

Anyway you missed Kate Horton from the poll.

I would have to say its that magical moment when you are around other 'normal' people and Countdown is on in the background and you see an apterite in the challenger's chair and scream 'I KNOW HIM!!' even though you've never actually met, you just played some hyperspeedgoat two months ago at 1:24am on a worknight.

Then you follow up by shouting out the 'insider-spots' like SONICATE and AGOUTIS while adding 'Oh I'm sure he'll have it as well!' with a sickeningly smug expression on your face.

Next, after a tough conundrum goes unscrambled and is revealed, you shake your head with a rueful grin and, with more smugness than your present company thought was possible, say 'Oh Damian!'

Finally, you leave the situation thinking that you've actually impressed these people but in actual fact you have confirmed their suspicions that you're an autistic freak.

Haha. When trying to solve the conundrum while watching the show on Thursday, that was one of the orderings that flashed through my mind's eye during the 30 seconds, along with MINGILARK and MANKIGIRL.

The whole thing, but I omitted the theme tune and the credits when voting.

As for "other", I'd go for the production team, who make it possible.

On the whole a much more satisfying poll then the other one which which has a negative ring to it.

I voted for Rachel. I was watching some early Rachel episodes and it's almost unbelievable how much she's improved as a co-presenter since. She injects a thoughtfulness into the show that was never there before. I can't begin to describe how much better than Carol Vorderman she is.

IAWTP

My extra vote on 'other' is Damian as producer.
Arse-licking aside, it is rather awesome to have a real Countdown fan and champion making the decisions on how the show progresses.
Although obviously he has many other considerations to take into account, he knows where the fans are coming from. 8-)
