An introspective question

Past or present, if you are thinking about anything at all and you heard any famous person's voice in your head, whose would it be?

Adolf Hitler.

I'm going to have to break with the consensus of opinion here. I'll say Eva Braun.

Chevy Chase.

James Brown (sister of Eva Braun.)

Do the celebrity voices in your head ever tell you to do bad things Jason?

If my thoughts were to be Americanized I'd say Wink Martindale but certainly not Tex Ritter.

I know you said "famous person" but would I be able to go for a famous monkey?

I feel a bit guilty now about giving a facetious answer to Jason's question. Sorry, Jason.

My real answer is, of course, Stephen Hawking.

Aaw, you were being facetious? I thought we'd discovered an awesome new pattern amongst countdowners :(

Who is Eva Braun, and Dinos, are you old enough to remember Wink Martindale's song, "Deck of Cards?"

By the way, Jon, no, these people's voices in my head do not tell me to do bad things. I was not in a bad mood when I started this thread. I was just being my old self and I was just curious.

Also, Jim, no wonder that you feel guilty about giving a facetious answer to my question. Eva Braun must not be a very nice lady.

How dare you! She's a good friend of mine and will be very upset when I tell her about this. Shame on you.

Hahaha, I was only pulling your leg, Jason. You know how I like a bit of fun sometimes. In fact, I don't know Eva Braun at all!

I do know who she is though and can't believe you've never heard of her. She's a world-renowned hip-hop artist, recently voted by Spin magazine the second most influential rapper of all time, just behind Jay-Z and just ahead of Pam Ayres.

But I'm not kidding. Here's the front cover of her last album, which was a smash hit all around the world (except in Germany):

She is an odd-looking lady, it is true, but her rhythmic flow is so irrepressible as to override the aesthetic concerns that usually dictate the success of a female artist in the misogynistic hip-hop world.

That's Eva Braun?

Wow! It's going to take a long time for the fact that she was a great friend of yours to sink in to me!

Is that really Eva Braun?

No wonder she's dating a monkey.

Thanks guys - absolutely brilliant.
I think if Eva Braun had confined herself to designing the Braun electric shaver, how much different the world would be.
I was at the Alamo a few years ago, always marketed as USA versus Mexico, and of the "179" defenders, there were 12 from England, a similar number from Wales, a few from Ireland and Scotland, Crockett + 20 or so Tennesseeans etc., and a Frenchman, (who ran away). No Texans whatsoever. And they had stolen the land from Mexico, so Mexico was quite entitled to take it back.
Sometimes I hear Jim Bowie.....
(If you get the chance to visit the Alamo, do, it is amazing.)

Kevin, do you think Eva Braun really did invent the Braun electric shaver?

No, I suspect Joseph Goebbels invented that to make her look good. Maybe it was Wernher von Braun?

I hope you don't suspect you'll cut yourself with a Bowie knife, in which case you will never want to go to Texas!

Boooooooring. Surprised you haven't just gone ahead and locked the thread.

Anyway, thanks Jack for bumping the thread, I A-lol'd twice reading through it, and if you hadn't revived it I'd have never experienced these little joys. Thank you.
