Spoilers For Monday November 30th 2009

Deary me, this month has just flown by, hasn't it. After a cold and miserable Saturday in Stoke-On-Trent seeing the mighty Terriers beat Port Vale, it's nice to have Countdown back on the TV, a very nice warmer-upper indeed.

Graham remains the champ after 2 wins (Is he the same Graham on Apterous, can anyone confirm?). Can he make it 3 :?:

Of course, if he remains champ on Thursday, he'll take the last spot in the finals, which would of course mean an all-male finals. It would be a shame not to have a female influence in the finals, although if Jacqueline does stay at #8 seed, she'll probably lose to Andrew (#1 seed) in the first quarter-final anyway. (That's me being slightly pessimistic and realistic at the same time.)

Back in DC is Sun journalist Jon Gaunt. Not a favourite of everyone on the forum, as my poll from a while ago suggests, but he obviously impressed enough to get a second go in DC. So, he clearly had some good points about him. Make your own mind up.

Yet another over-opinionated right wing hack gets yet another chance to spout his shit in DC. He's just a tad to the left of Nick Griffin (on the surface)

You're at liberty to post whatever you want on here, but you are unhappy that someone else gets afforded those same liberties as a DC guest? Sounds about right.

You miss my point. There seems to be a distinct swing towards the right-wing journalists. How about some good old socialist columnists (if there is such a thing left) in the spirit of equality?

Not sure what you mean by right-wing journalists. Those journalists who have been on the show have, by and large, refrained from talking about politics. Feel free to make a DC suggestion by all means. There is no political bias when it comes to Countdown and the choosing of DC guests. For what it's worth, i won't be voting for any party, as to me they are all self-serving hypocrites with nothing to say. Politics is dead and so are newspapers. Long live the X Factor.

Not a Gaunt fan either, but I agree on the Bank Holidays for Saints Days idea.

However, he seems to misunderstand the meaning of Great in Great Britain, which seems to be quite common when Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells gets their messages printed in the press.

A final vowel in R13 would probably have given a 9. (pistoler+ A, E or O.)

Saddo corner: I was on the phone, playing against my dad "live" and I screamed "A,E or O for a 9!" and Graham went consonant and my dad laughed as he said he couldn't see what the 9s would have been.

So the challenger's ambition today is to meet Kirk Bevins? Why didn't he just wander amongst the audience?

Wayhey. Cheap dig? Actually I was there the day after for the finals and, since he may win 8, he will have met me. Keep watching to find out if he wins those 8 ...

Depending on his scores he may only need to win 6

I meant to see me. He might win 6, then lose then go home and not see me as I was only there in the afternoon session.

The finals were split into sessions. We weren't all there for all of them. If you didn't ask, and you didn't search the studio audience for faces, you could arguably see the semis and final without knowing who got knocked out in the early stages. Whilst some people were warm and cosy watching quarters in the studio, some of us were out in the Manchester rain, trying to keep Derek's ADD at bay.

I can't stand the guy and my nasty post seems to have disappeared. Did I say something wrong - or perhaps I blobbed on the submit button. Who will ever know?

Thanks for that prompt explanation, Charlie, and now I know, I can sleep easy.
Can't re-submit it Marc - I forgot what I had said.

It was something like 'I am just a watcher of Countdown and I agree with Davy Affleck on this DC guest and I do not like being preached at by a self-opinionated hypocrite. ' .... and so on.
