Spoilers For Friday November 20th 2009

Well, well, well, Charlie seems to be doing well so far. 3 wins on the spin for the Apterite.

Can he make it 4 today :?: We'll have to wait and see...

I think Amanda Lamb has been pretty good this week. It's quite nice that quite a lot of the newer guests are big Countdown fans, such as Amanda, Colin Murray and Martin Lewis for example. It's nice to see a lot of involvement from the DC guest, rather than just in the bit they have before the first break.

And unless I'm not mistaken, she is also the last new guest of the decade, since all the guests for the rest of the series (David Lloyd, Jon Gaunt, Dr. Phil Hammond & Rory McGrath) have been on the show before, although for most of them, it will just be their second stint. That is of course, unless Series 62 starts right at the end of the year of course.

One for the pedants. OK, I admit it.

"pretty" - yes
"good" - I wish I knew

Great comeback Charlie, unlucky Elliott.

Phew. When Elliott took that early lead I thought, ah well, bye bye Charlie. Thankfully though it was not to be. Nothing against Elliott but Charlie does have a bit more personality and I'm far from being bored of him yet.

Really good contest today. Well played both.

I had RAGTOP for a contestant beater in round 7 but it may have been a DC beater too as I'm not sure what they got due to someone knocking on the door. I answered it and some woman wanted to do some market research so I told her to call again when Countdown isn't on. She said "what time does Countdown finish?" Shocking. The next round had started and the clock music could clearly be heard so she took the subtle hint and quickly scarpered.

DC beater in round 11 too in PROBITS.

Yep, they only had 5s, one of which was GATOR which is all I had. Was chuffed to get ANDANTES earlier though.

100% Echoed. Elliott was clearly a very good player so that really was a brilliant comeback. (Couldn't believe the crucial conundrum lasted 16s though!)

Appalling! You should have told her to get a life. What self-respecting market researcher works between 3.25pm and 4.10pm. This one certainly doesn't!!

Could not disagree more. Elliott was in calmer and politer mode even when losing whereas Charlie looked, when losing, as if his life depended on it. It's only a game.

I'm quite intrigued to see how long a sentence you're prepared to make, without putting in any punctuation. :? ;)

I think you misunderstand. "Top comeback Charlie" is Charlie Khoo's nickname, and he thought someone's number was up. I'm not sure whose. Possibly Marc Meakin's.

Yep, that all makes sense now.
Meakin - your number's up, mate. I think we all saw it coming.

There is a good reason here, as to why you need puncuation.

I think that's a little unfair. I found Elliott's description of his sister's driving quite funny. True, he was quiet, but he still entertained me and could havecome out of his shell a bit more with a few victories.

(I'm only a week behind now! By the time we get round to the finals I'll almost be up to date!)

Of course it is. What you have to remember is that when I say "Charlie Khoo has a bit more personality" that's basically code for "hubba-hubba".
