Lunch will consist of a jacket potato with a variety of fillings (including vegetarian), followed by hot, home-made apple crumble & custard.

Cost will be £2.50 (payable on the day) but I do need to know now who wants it so I can give my mum (the cook) exact numbers.
Count me in!

Would it be possible to provisionally count in friends/friends of friends (hopefully not more than 3 in total in my case) who are still deciding about the whole event?

I decided to book a hotel for me and my daughter in the end, remembering how knackered I was after doing CoLei2 in a day.

Just in case anyone else wants an alternative to the Travelodge, I thought I'd let you know that the Lincoln Holiday Inn Express has a 2 for 1 if you stay 2 nights, which means that it's £65 total for 2 nights for 2 adults (plus up to 2 children under 18) including continental breakfast:

Continental breakfasts are such a cop out. Full English breakfasts are the way to go.

I agree, Kirk. But then, Travelodges don't do brekkie at all.
Last year, we did a 2 night B&B (full English) plus dinner on one night deal at the proper Holiday Inn, but the rates this year are a bit too pricey for me (over £200!!!! ).

No lunch for me thanks Ben. With all these apple crumbles going begging (Kirk can't possibly eat them all) I plan to buy some at a knockdown price and that should keep me going. I LOVE apple crumble.

Why not come this year, Gavin? I would genuinely love to meet you, and I'm not being snarky or anything with that. I know we've had our fallings-out in the past, but that's all long forgotten now (by me, anyway). Go on, do it!

Echoed, but without the fallings-out because we've never had any of them x

And I agree, it would be awesome to finally meet Gevin/Gavin! Come on, make it soon - it would be great to finally put a face to the name(s)!!

I was just checking trains from Cardiff to Lincoln and the journey seems rather brutal. Just on the off-chance I was wondering whether I could meet one of you, who are driving, at one of the stops and share travel expenses. I am not an expert on UK geography but I am fairly sure the train route is not as the crow flies. At least I'll have a built-in excuse for sucking at this thing and it will deflect attention from my cheating on apterous.

And don't panic, on Saturday I shall come by car because there's no decent homeward train journey. x
