Sorry to say this, but I think you may need to think again.
I don't watch these programmes but you are more likely to find cockneys in London (in Eastenders.)
Whereas the people in Coronation Street are from somewhere in the county of Lancashire.
You may need to re-write.

I agree with Ralph. Corrie is a Mancunian soap (set in Manchester), and Cockneys are from East London. You need to change it to Mancs, or something like that. It would be like calling someone in Seattle a Hillbilly.

Good start, Jason, but confusing. I think you should change the cockney bit, even if there was a good reason for it.
