I'm probably not going to give him a taste of his own medicine and tell him when he loses that he'll never be a good Scrabble player and that he really needs to stop being deluded by the media coverage. Thanks and yea I did have time to see Match of the Day (well the first 30-40 minutes) twice. The beach ball incident was still great on second viewing. Kinda makes it better the way Sunderland screwed up a hatful of chances so that ended up being the only goal.

I played through the three games, never having shown much interest in Scrabble before. I've always thought of Craig as the best Countdowner, as he was so good while so obviously playing within himself. But this really brought it home to me how hard it must be to "forget" half your vocabulary for Countdown, when Scrabble has to be the priority.

It's worth noting Craig is only the second person to have won both a Countdown final and the NSC final, and the only person to do it in that order (kudos for anyone who figures out who did it the other way around... and when). Plenty of people have won one but finished 2nd in the other though.
