Wednesday 14th October 2009 (Series 61, Prelim 63)
Well, I seem to be liking this responsibility of doing the Wednesday recaps. It's certainly very enjoyable. I might be missing watching the England v Belarus match now, but since the game is of little to no consequence, I can afford to miss it for this. Enjoy.
Countdown recap for Wednesday 14 October 2009.
C1: Champion Steve Wood (6 wins, 500 points.) Despite claiming to be just here on a whim, he has made it to show 7, after just surviving yesterday's 64-58 win over Colin Wilson. He likes watching horror movies and doing extreme sports such as bungee jumping and skydiving. He hopes to do BASE jumping soon.
C2: Challenger Toby Chenery. From West Malling, Kent. He is a paramedic and is married with 3 children. Is a member of the Ipswich Town & England Supporters' Clubs. His ambition is to see England win a World Cup Final in a penalty shoot-out. (Somehow England winning a penalty shoot-out seems unlikely.)
DC: Susie Dent and Penny Smith.
RR: Rachel Riley.
OT: Other words or solutions.

Charlie Reams' pedants corner: TABETIC is not someone who is affected with TABES as TABETIC is not a noun, only an adjective. An important distinguishing feature as TABETICS isn't valid.

In my defence I'm quite good at finding words, not knowing what they mean. Sentence structuring is not one of my fortes. As my GCSE Grade C in English will confirm.

Ooh, thanks for that. Last year, on the theatre website I maintain, I instigated a section called Actors directory. I received a couple of comments that it should be Actors' directory but I demurred purely because my instinct told me it was wrong. Now I know why.Charlie Reams wrote:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attributive_noun
