C1: Champion Steve Wood (3 wins, 263 points.)
Apterist Steve comes from Woking but is completing a MA at Manchester. Very handy for filming then.

DC: Susie Dent and Martin Lewis.
I think that Martin is a very welcome addition to DC and he clearly has a passion for the game.
RR: Rachel Riley.
OT: Other words or solutions.

Steve has established a nice lead, which will be hard for Paul to peg back.

Martin tells us the most expensive and cheapest ways to buy rail tickets and it is a surprise to learn that it can be much cheaper to buy separate returns to different destinations within the same journey.

Teatime teaser: TONICSIR -> CROSTINI

C1: 706. 6+1=7x100+6 (10)
C2: 706. 8-1=7x100+6 (10)

Round 15: O R C A C H O C K

C1 buzzes on 3 seconds to say COCKROACH which is correct.
Score: 89–67 (max 119)
And Steve spots the Conundrum very quickly to wrap it all up.

Paul is happy to have beaten wife Eileen's score and he can get back to his pipe and slippers.
Steve continues to march onwards but I feel he will be vulnerable to someone with strong word-power but he is very useful on the Conundrums. Let's hope he continues his winning run and we can look forward to having yet another apterous Octochamp next week.
