Spoilers for Monday 21st September 2009

Post by Jon Corby »

Apparently a tipsy Ian gets into bed with Tanya during the "husband swap" competition, while Jane advises Peter to use protection if he's gonna plough Lauren, much to Max's chagrin. Elsewhere, will Lucas confess if the police continue to suspect Denise?

Did anybody else notice the error in Rd 11? The selection was TKJEOASGF and when Rachel put GASKET on the board, the other 3 letters were JOE!

Not only that, but Jeff also named his favourite sportsman as being the same one as yours!

Another one of those funny coincidences today, when Jeff started the show talking about soaps, after Jon had started this thread in the same way.

Also, lots of mentions of birthdays, so could this be the final negative proof in the debate about Susie's birthday? Or is it just Damian's twisted sense of humour?

I had one of my best days watching the show today (from my own house, not the studios unfortunately) up until missing TOLERATED and the conundrum.

I do have a few good equallers though:
Round 2 - BONUS
Round 3 - DAMPEST
Round 7 - WAVIEST (which was good until it was beaten by Susie's VESICANT)
Round 8 - REELING
Round 12 - TOADLET (which Susie always seems to miss, if anyone hasn't noticed) (not bad, but it wasn't TOLERATED)

Like Dinos, I also thought the conundrum was FRUSTRATED! :x

Simple alternative to 2nd numbers game:

100 + 5 + 1 = 106

106 x 7 = 742

742 - 2 = 740

Also double checked Naomi's observation. How that happened seems beyond me as everyone who has been knows that all the letters for each round are kept in a little stack marked with whichever round they're on, so very puzzling that. :?

P.S. It would be very interesting if it was Susie's birthday (Wikipedia says it's her 42nd today (although it does say "dubious" as well)), but they forgot considering that she was allowed to mention her mum's birthday on my first show, although it was also mentioning the Queen's birthday too. Although, it's at least my sister's 19th today.

P.P.S. Also note that there are 21 small numbers on the trolley (as foreseen in the "Number Frequencies" topic in General). So, expect a shrunken 5 pretty soon, since it didn't appear today. But don't worry it'll only be for this week and next week.

Susie's "official" age and birthday are bollocks.

Do you happen to know what they are by chance, Charlie? I did also mention that it was from Wikipedia, so it was bound to be slightly wrong.

Maybe you can ask her yourself next time you're at the studio, I'm sure she'll be pleased to hear from you.

I was pretty confused by the horrible fake tan until I discovered there'd been the Summer filming break in between today's and Friday's episodes.
Wonder where all the sun was, I saw fuck all of it. Must be this new Countdown pay packet providing some excellent holiday action abroad.

There was an interesting bit of camerawork during the ONERIYEGL round as Jeff came into view - presumably to the bemusement of the camera operator who seemed to be readying himself to pan away at the time! Was this a vision mixing blip that wasn't picked up in the edit, or was there nothing to tidy it up with?

She told the audience that she'd been to Borneo during the break, so that's probably the answer. She also told us how there first 2 days were interrupted by her boyfriend getting heat stroke and sunburn.

If Russell hadn't made such a poor start he could have cantered home had things played out similarly. That said, he didn't, and thankfully I live to fight another day.

Furious with missing WAVIEST and, having seen LEOTARD after 7, when trying to find a word with the ATE/ATED suffix I copied down the other letters wrong, missing an E and thus TOLERATED. My annoyance was only slightly checked by the fact DC missed it as well. I was also leaning towards FRUSTRATED for the conundrum, although a record of 0/4 is quite shocking! Hopefully will eradicate my form of playing well for a few rounds before switching off for some as I have done thus far.

I laughed when I realised everyone was a whole lot more tanned and had different haircuts to Friday- but that said, I think my jaw dropped quicker than Harrods' lift when Rachel came out. I think that is probably the best she has looked on any show, that dress was indecently tight. :o

Yeah, you're telling me Jeffrey, I hope a lot of her new wardrobe contains similarly tighter dresses. It just reminds me a bit of how she looked on my second show, with the obvious exceptions of the tan and the hairstyle of course. ;) :) :D

I had that as well, I guess it is allowed as a mass noun seeing as it's food.
