Countdown Petitions

Post by Thomas Wood »

We are petitioning to Channel 4 for them to repeat classic episodes of Countdown from 1982 to the present day and/or for them to upload them to 4od.

Please sign both the petitions:

* http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/countdownon4od
* http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/c ... ntdownonc4

Many thanks :D

Why is it not possible, Damian? Is there some ruling that prevents this or something?

ITV own the rights, not C4.

Presumably they could then still be shown with their permission. I imagine they're not holding onto the rights specifically to stop them ever being shown again.

Am I right in thinking this means ITV could Air old episodes of countdown if they chose to do so?

If Channel 4 turn down the petition then we will send it to ITV

Could everybody get together and re-enact them - maybe using wigs and tight corsets to defy the passage of time - with maybe a holographic RW?

The answer has to be 'yes', surely.

Hmmm - I think we're about to have our re-enactment idea nipped in the bud by the bosses, Kieran. Shame - I was just thinking I could play Clare Sudbury!
