What the Donald Duck has happened too

Post by Douglas Wilson »

Countdown Wiki?

I just went onto the site too have a little pootle round as I often do, maybe even read this month's (and last's and the one before and the one before that's) featured article on 'gandiseeg'; and all I found was a fake smiling blonde who definitely wouldn't know what a tangelo is.

Anyone shed any light?

Like it says on the page, the domain registration expired. As you can see from the Whois record, it was updated today and is renewed until 28 July 2010, so I presume it'll be back online later.

I assume this hilarious satire is you volunteering to help maintain it, and not just you being a crybaby again.

Now you two, stop being Goofy and taking the Mickey Mouse out of each other - or I'll send you both to Pluto! *SIGH*

I guess it's because you keep being a wang, because I'm pretty sure I don't do anything specifically to irk you.

I think it would need to be done tag team stylee - possible after a poll to decide on order and pairings. Though some people may never get on. Luck of the draw I guess.

It doesn't seem to be online for me, and the Database isn't up to date, either.
If you cut a gandiseeg in half, do you get two gandiseegs or two halves of a gandiseeg?

It is not online for anyone except Jason. Maybe America has an archive version which they keep running. I had already made a small mention of it here because I didn't want to start a new thread, and Howard and I had also checked with each other privately.

I would imagine, like the issue mentioned here with Apterous, it is all to do with server changes.

It's been relocated to http://wiki.apterous.org Thomas, although whether that's a temporary or permanent URL change I know not.

Haha, Kirk Bevan. :D

We should all be happy it's back!

I'm sorry for being so inquisitive and grilling some of you by asking why so many times.

I was being very manipulative, and that was because I found the page disappearing to be a big surprise.

But, it's water under the bridge now!

What happened to the old address? Was it accidentally left to expire and hence now being squatted upon?

Chris, honestly, I was wondering the same thing but then I realized I should be thankful.

I'm sorry to bump this thread, but the Countdown Wiki is not working again! I get an SRCF webserver error when I go there.

That's unfortunate because I can't lurk at the most recent Countdown games.

My apologies, Innis. I forgot about this thread. The Countdown Wiki still doesn't work for me.

Now, making a long-distance phone call to Cambridge University would make no sense when I can certainly ask Charlie what he thinks the problem is!

There is no triple w in the address, I don't know why.
