Who's the best Dictionary Corner newbie?

It's 4 weeks till Countdown returns to our screens, so in the meantime, I'd thought I'd start a poll about the newest dwellers of Dictionary Corner.

I've always wondered, since we seem to talk about the players most of the time, what people have thought about DC since Series 60 began?

Since the start of the year, there have been 14 new inhabitants in Dictionary Corner, sitting next to Susie. I wonder what everyone has thought about the new offerings in DC since Jeff and Rachel have arrived.

Have any been a breath of fresh air?

Have any made you want to chuck your TV out of the window?

Do you want to see any of them return

Hopefully this poll will decide which are the best and which are not.

Jerry Springer gets my vote - I wasn't expecting him to be very good, but he was great and I hope he returns soon.

Rory McGrath, David Lloyd and Steve Davis also get honorable mentions from me as being excellent. The only one I didn't like was Jonathan Ansell really, the rest were all pretty good on the whole.

I voted for Tim Vine, but Rory McGrath was a close second for me. Bumble was better than I thought he'd be as well.

Springer would be my vote, but Vine and Lloyd were great too. Even if Ian Hyland did 'leak' the 'Susie has help' story, the worst was Jon Gaunt for his "It's great because it's old / English / because I say it is" arguments. At least Anne Widdecombe seems to have thought about her views and considered both sides of the argument and the consequences of a situation.

I've put Rory McGrath.
I didn't like Tim Vine very much. I suppose it is to be expected that some of his quick-fire type gagging will miss the spot.
I find myself beginning to groan.
I thought Ian Hyland was awful.

Me too. He also has the strange and annoying habit of waiting for applause/praise/laughter. Doesn't seem to realise that if people missed the point they missed it. His prob.

I voted Springer - a genuine man there - also moved by his 'Who Do You Think You Are' prog.

Well, with just a week till the long awaited return of the show, it seems that my mate, Tim Vine, is leading the poll with 1 week to go, with Jerry Springer, Rory McGrath & Matt Le Tissier in joint second.

Hopefully, there'll be a few more people come to vote, but I'll probably be lucky to pass the 50 votes mark.

Still, not long to go before Jeff, Rachel & Susie return to our screens.

Hooray, 50 has been reached with 3 days to go! Having said that, it means that there has been an average of just TWO votes a day since I started this poll, which is pretty rubbish it has to be said.
