Well, we've got to have something to talk about for a whole month while Countdown is off air! It would be awful if there was nothing to read on here in between doing all the less important things in life (like eating, drinking, sleeping, working, playing . . .).

I suppose I'll have to allow more than one option per vote on the poll, just in case you really can't choose one.

There a huge number of genres that have been lumped together under the the "other" option. I like Indian music; have been recently trying to appreciate Japanese, but wouldn't put in as a favourite yet.
My other favourite is pre-Classical instrumental music, as performed by David Munrow's Early Music Consort etc.

In the absense of any electronic music in the poll I went for soul, which is probably my joint favourite genre with electronic styles.

(and you have 'classical' and 'baroque', but no other classical music options, unless there's some meaning to 'baroque' other than in the {baroque,classical,romantic,etc.,etc.} genres of classical music that I'm unaware of)

As a semi-serious answer, I'm not really sure I can answer, even with 3 votes - I tend to be able to find something I find awesome in pretty much any genre, but I'll have a think to see if I can work out if any in particular are favourites.

By "Extreme", do you mean the band, or some outlandish form of a different genre, such as extreme metal?

I ticked that one anyway, since I like the band, and I'm very much into grindcore, thrash and death metal. However, I also love new romantic pop, 70s/80s electronica, ambient, hardcore rave, gabber and various other elements of a wide range of genres, limited only by time, money and ignorance.

I voted "other" - musicals. Which I suppose is a subspecies of "easy", but what the heck. No matter how hard you try, you can't produce a poll that covers all options.

I'm also into musicals (quelle surprise) but, given that there are as many styles of musical as there are styles of music, it seems odd to categorise them as "easy". My favourite new musical of the last couple of years is not the vastly over-rated Wicked, but the grungy, truthful and beautiful Spring Awakening. Any musical with a song called Totally Fucked is not going to be "easy listening"; but it is hugely rewarding. Not to mention a brilliant, multi-layered song called The Bitch of Living, which deals with all sorts of teenage angst, but is principally about masturbation...

Well, I am about the Colorado bit, but not the Killers bit.

I am a very expressive person, so I voted for easy listening, soft rock and soul although I do like all types of music.
