Which should be the next variant added?

We have So many great variants on apterous and a webmaster willing to mix many of them up, providing such fun as Hyper Unlimited and Goatblind. But which should be the next 'cocktail' of variants?

Note I'm only mixing two variants here, so hypertouchblindgoat will have to wait.

Hypertouch before I saw the other options.

Going for Hypertouch. Not a fan of Blind, and I think Juniortouch and Juniorgoat might just be too easy.

100 round Normal.

Well very few players play blind matches except for duels, so I don't expect those to win. However, I would like to see some touchblind duels, and I've voted for that. Hyper blind a close second. I agree that the junior variants would probably be way too easy. 3 second juniortouch or juniorblind may work better.

I must be the only person who can't think about 'playing Juniortouch' without laughing.

Nah, me too, so much so that I voted for it. If it makes it though, it really needs a name change.

'Kid' works better as a snappy prefix than 'Junior'. So, Kidtouch it is then.

Dammit, knew I'd forgotten to add one. Namely 'hyperhyper'. :) Was tempted to add 'goatgoat' too (where seven were selected as normal and each player added one at the end).

I've pitched the 100-round game to Charlie more than once, though. Next thread: 'which should be the next format added'? :)

A scoring method rather than a format, but please include the Scrabble idea that someone suggested (tougher letters give more points).
It might have to be tinkered with but I'd be interested to see if it has much initial support.

Hmm I think using a Scrabble idea as tie-breaker after the word length might work well. Could be a bit confusing if it's merely down to pointiness.

It'd be nice to make the most of it by primarily using the points, but maybe they could just be 'toned down'. Something like: B/C/M/P worth 2 instead of 3, F/H/W/V/Y/K worth 3 each instead of 4 or 5, and finally J/X/Q/Z worth 4 each instead of 8 or 10. That way it would still be encouraging players to learn the sort of odd words that are useful to know for flat rounds in the real game, without throwing up quite so many oddities like QI being worth more than DARIOLES.
And then we can make it even more interesting by adding a once-per-game chance to play a 'double word' or something :)

Or, say, a randomth letter gets double points, and one triple points.

How about Pokedown combining elements of Poker (Texas hold'em) and Countdown
Although I cannot see this working on Apterous but might work at a future COLIN

Did anyone else read "Pokedown" and have a much more exciting idea?

Could a form of handicap countdown work whereby the octochamps and other 1400+ players have 5 seconds per round and plebs like me get the full 30 seconds

Is it dooable?

Only you are excited by the association of Pokemon and Countdown, Charlie.

Probably be really simple for Charlie to program as well, I'd imagine he's written everything in such a way that he can easily just slot another player in.

Not Juniortouch - Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Did Michael Jackson not teach you people anything? You can play it but it'll cost $20 million a go ;)

It's sick and wrong I tell you!

Semi-serious suggestion: Junior Unlimited, with a selection of just 4 letters.

Ooooh, Junior Unlimited Goatdown, with 3 letters selected and the other one specified. TATTLETALE FTW!! (every round, probably)
