Seem to remember seeing PITHOI looking at a linked Apterous game in the last couple of days.

I am now a fan of MLT after not even knowing what he looked like before yesterday, as I loved his quick explanation for ROASTED as being how he likes his potatoes. After all the salacious headlines about roasting in football, I thought that was a very quick save. Maybe he should have spent some time as a goalkeeper too.

Well done Innis.

It's the 3rd game running I've been winning after 14 rounds only to have you pip me on the conundrum. You're ultra fast, albeit by only a fraction of a second today.

On current form, it looks like you'll go on to be an Octochamp.

Dunno, Charlie posted somewhere about things like that being allowed by Susie.

Anyway, MUNCHIES.

Susie will allow -ISE words where only -IZE is given (e.g. SIMONIZE). She won't allow you to stick -IZE on any word that happens to end -ISE or we'd have junk like CLOCKWIZE and PORPOIZE.

It was ROASTER actually [/Reynolds], but yeah I lolled at that too, although I'm not convinced it was intentional. I'd imagine it went over most people's heads though.

I thought Susie was gonna be harsh in that round as well and make Trudi spell RELATORS, as there was an outside chance she could have been declaring RELATERS. Maybe she did for all I know, but it had to be left out for timing reasons. :?

Edit to add that he was actually a pretty good goalkeeper - I remember him playing in goal for a bit during a testimonial match, and shutting Shearer out for a good 30 minutes or so :)
Also I was slightly surprised that he'd only been sent off twice. If I was prompted for a quick guess I'd have gone for at least 3 or 4, but I can actually only remember two (and very well at that - at home to Liverpool in the league in a televised match which I missed the start of because of my missus, and away at Norwich in the FA Cup, which Tony Gubba fucked up by accidentally reading out the semi-finals over the top of the highlights while we were 1-0 up.)

Am I boring anyone?

Lol, I had a feeling I'd got that wrong . . . The irony is I wasn't paying the show my full attention on one of the very rare occasions I could watch it live, because I was catching up on the messages on this site at the same time!

Is C4C killing Countdown?

Surely if she allowed you to stick -ISE on any word that happens to end -IZE then we'd have junk like CAPSISE and BAISE.

It would only make logical sense on verbs anyway...

Haha, just noticed myself applauding after the contestant introductions, realising the blunder, and then looking embarrassed. Brilliant.

Like CAPSIZE you mean?

FWIW I'm sure Susie meant only words which have the usual -IZE semantics, although I will clarify at some point.

MANNOSE as a beater in round 2 and PITHOI which CB has mentioned for a beater in round 7.

Well done Innis - absolutely loving your run at the minute - fantastic.
