The Cheltenham Festival

Post by Jason Larsen »

I know that this past week, Countdown was abbreviated due to the Cheltenham Festival

Of all shows, why would it affect Countdown and why would Deal or No Deal still be on?

On a side note, in my part of the US, they pre-empt The Price is Right with Drew Carey (another one of my favorite shows,) for a few days in March because of the NCAA basketball tournament (That would be college basketball.)

I was just thinking, is March a good month to pre-empt everything in the world?

This is just an observation, and I am just wondering.

Last year I went to the inaugral Cheltenham Food and Drink Festival. It was a superb day out, and I would pre-empt any holiday or other plans to be able to go again.

I didn't realise that countdown had moved, as I was working at the Cheltenham Festival!

Countdown is broadcast at a time when major races are run, DOND isn't.

You would think that since Leeds is so far away from "that other place," it wouldn't affect Countdown at all! That is one of the oddest connections I've ever heard in my life!

I would like to see the numbers of those who watch Countdown - and count for it in their daily diet - and those who do horse racing/gambling. I think Channel 4 has got all their priorities wrong and do not give a shit for their regular loyal viewers.

- and why is it off topic?
