Interesting outfit, black tights and top with a multicoloured skirt. I haven't decided if I like it or not. Oh and what's DANDER, is that what he said?

It's okay to be a cunt as long as you put an emoticon on the end.

 Nice one Matt.

Well played Jimmy, another ton, two good nines there.

Will be good to see how near the 900 barrier you get, if you become an octochamp.

I'm very much hoping Jimmy gets through to the finals ... we could have some fireworks with him in the mix.

Interesting how Steve Davis's Countdown play is erratic, in complete contrast to his snooker. OBVIATE yesterday, and NEBULAS today; but not much else, apparently.

I think there was ENDEARED in R2 as a DC beater, but if my erratic form is anything to go by, I'll have got that wrong. Pales in comparison with the two excellent 9s from Jimmy, whatever.

You're correct - ENDEARED isn't there as there weren't three Es.

Well done Jimmy. Surprising Susie with nines like that and getting a reaction is such a nice feeling. So early on in your run too - that's gotta give you confidence to start offering more obscurities like SESTINA. A pleasure to watch.

Brilliant stuff Jimmy!

Liked the challenger's "do you come here often?" too, but as usual fuck-all response from the cunting audience. Twats.

Also Vaguest in R3
and Blouson in R7
was feeling smug with unearths in R4 till Jimmy de-smugged me.

Maybe they should take the audience laughter off of "Reggie Perrin" that everyone is complaining about, and dub it over Countdown instead. Or, just swap the audiences over . . . CD is definitely the funnier show!

I thought that. But if the audience had laughed, it would've seemed pretty funny. Herd mentality for you.

I thought it was a nicely conceived gag, but his deadpan delivery was so horrendous I literally went into a cringe spasm on my sofa. Rachels muted reaction said it all.

Nice game Jimmy, you seemed to be really impressing Susie. Lucky you! ;)
If you managed to score in every round, you'd be getting some pretty epic totals, maybe you should've just played it safe a little more? (Like not risking balones, and not buzzing in on the conundrums so quickly!) Awesome scores though. Can't help but feel sorry for your opponent though, to miss two obscure nines (obscure by regular standards anyway) and still get a very respectable score takes some doing, it must've been pretty disheartening for him when you got them.

I think it means a person's temper i.e. "it gets my dander up" - an old-fashioned saying which translates as "it irritates and annoys me".

Not sure if I've ever seen a handshake before a conundrum.

How can anyone cuss Steve Davis...I think he's just pure awesome in everything he does. Jimmy, you aint too bad either.

Cheers everybody. To have so many legends congratulate me is quite something. :D The response from friends/family has been absolutely quality.
I suppose "balones" was a bit of a stupid risk - I'd gone for it before on apterous (I have no idea why) so that's where I'd remembered it from. I surprised myself again a little bit with how well I played and I doubt I would've done so well if I was watching at home which I suppose is a bit different to what most people say!
Also, I thought Steve Davis was a fantastic DC guest as well as being a really friendly guy.

Well, he isn't a professional comedian, and he was clearly making (or trying to make) a joke. A TV audience should laugh, in my opinion, if only out of basic politeness.

Doddy v Briers in our CoC?! I think Reams & I might have done as well.

Didnt you and Reams have full penetrative sex while Susie was doing her origin of words?

I think Reams & Mubeen did as well come to think of it. The CoC was full of love!

(The handshake thing that is, not penetration)

It's quite common when the conundrum is crucial.

Happened in the final of c of c 11 as well. In fact, after the game Graham also shook Richard Whiteley's hand.
