The last ever Danielle appreciation topic

As she's retiring from her post as Countdown's ultimate person-who-bosses-the-contestants-about, this will be your last chance to show your appreciation for the lovely Danielle. Anyone who's been on the show in the last year or so will have encountered her untiring friendliness and general good humour, even in the face of Damian's constant aggravation, so this is your opportunity to thank her for being generally excellent at life. Also she's currently recovering from shoulder surgery so she gets the sympathy vote too. (If you'd like to be entered into the prize draw to win the remnants of her cast, please indicate appropriately in your reply.)

I haven't been on the show nor have I ever met Danielle but I have read many good things about her, not only on here but on other parts of this interwebby thing too.

I would like to wish her well in her retirement and a speedy recovery from surgery. I will pass on the offer of parts of the plaster, I am sure there are more deserving than me.

Danielle has my utmost appreciation - always willing to help and always willing to spend time after recordings in the local bar

You will be sadly missed from the studios, Danielle.

I only met her once but even then she was very sweet, not to mention superfine! :)

I was supposed to start this thread and for that I can only apologise. Suffice to say, Danielle has enchanted, enraptured and entranced Countdown geeks throughout her tenure. Her smile is like the sunrise of a sweet spring morning; her voice, the birdsong. Merely being in the same room as Danielle is enough to brighten up the gloomiest of moods.

A true sweetheart. You will be missed.

From what Danielle said to me at the finals, I don't think she's leaving through choice. She hasn't been asked to go to Manchester because they've already got someone there who does her job.But yes, she was lovely to be around and will be sorely missed

I'm so sad she's going, she was the best. Countdown won't be the same again.

Goodbye!

I, for one, won't be watching anymore.

I had feared the move to Manchester would cost us Danielle. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say she's the loveliest person in Leeds.

I assume she still has her directing job on Emmerdale. We'll have to get jobs as extras there so she can order us around a tv set again.
