Recap: Friday 24 April 2009. Series 60. Game 56

Post by Allan Harmer »

Countdown recap for Friday 24 April 2009.
C1: Champion Patrick McCurdie (1 win, 87 points.)
Amiable Patrick caused something of a surprise by beating forumite James Robinson yesterday. Patrick, from Glasgow, is a wannabe horror film maker and writer who supports Ayr.
C2: Challenger Julie Russell.
Welcome to forumite Julie who is a grandmother (just) from Dumfries. A dental receptionist who enjoys yoga, gardening, cooking and Scrabble. She is proud to have been one of the first graduates from Paisley University and her degree is in Business Administration. Her favourite band is The Smiths. Nothing she like more than a good laugh then! :D

Jeff introduces the show with a reference to the London Marathon, a theme which he continues throughout the show, being a former participant himself.

DC: Susie Dent and Tim Vine. I'm definitely in the Tim Vine camp as I enjoy his puns and plays on words. A great choice for DC in my opinion. It is good to see the audience finally warming to Tim's style.
RR: Rachel Riley.
OT: Other words or solutions.

Just a little note, the OoW is in the wrong place, but otherwise great recap Allan (whose Series 59 ranking is x) :)

Also, sorry for the delay on my recap, it should be up by tomorrow probably, as my computer crashed and I was on a tight schedule.

The title of the thread is wrong as this is Friday's game not Thursday's.
