Surely if I keep saying "Adrian Chiles" someone will agree with me?

Thanks. I couldn't place him. That's it!

R5 numbers:

(10 + 3)*(5 * (8 + 7)) - 4 = 971

The trick was 13 * 75 :D

Well done, Adam. Just came in to post same solution (though I did get it out of time).

The tilde is ignored for Countdown purposes so it's fine.

I had a couple of DC beaters:

Round 1: OERSTEDS/DOSSERET
Round 3: PIROGI/PICARO

Horrible letters today and then bang, three nines.

I thought Jeff was really funny today - was good to watch.

Hmm In my OED I can't find DOSSERET... any idea why? Is it a non-concise OED word?

Don't know - it's clearly listed in ODE2r, the one they use on the show.

I was in the studio for this game, sussing my opponent out. It was the night before I was due on as challenger. So now you know... my opponent on Monday will be Shane. After this show I went back to the hotel and did a bit of panicky 6-small revision (and felt very glad that I'd spent a bit of time studying 6 small techniques as part of my preparation).
