2009 has started to become a shocking year for British people. First, Natasha Richardson (Liam Neeson's wife,) died of a skiing accident and now Jade Goody has died!

Condolences to Jade and her family.

As much as I do have sympathy, I this has got way too much media coverage, including totally dominating News 24. I mean she's not exactly the only person to die of cancer in this country this year.

Having said that, yes of course it's sad that someone so young with 2 young children has passed away. I think she was really like a snapshot of the 2000s and the reality show culture.

The impact she's had on cervical screening rates (and the subsequent review of the current system) seems a pretty good benefit from it all, though.

I actually thought she was 27 and born in 1981.
