Carol's memory lapse?

In a feature in today's Times, Carol is reported to have remarked that there are ten letters rounds in a Countdown game. I wonder if Carol's memory is playing tricks with her, or was the reporter the same person who took Charlie's comments out of context last week.

The feature wasn't about Countdown; it was to do with spelling.

I wonder which letters round she was forgetting about? I reckon it's the ninth.

I could agree with you. Either the ninth or the fifth, as she was probably still thinking about the numbers round in which she'd made a mistake.

Well Jeff got it right. Wonder if Carol's watching.

I don't believe it!

Is she getting amnesia?

Maybe she's thinking ahead to the new: ten letters games, 4 numbers games and the Conundrum format. ;)

I read somewhere where she said she didn't want to watch Countdown any more.

Jojo, how do you know there will be a new format soon?

There won't be, I was just harping back to what I said in my introductory post, asking if it would be better to have contestants picking the same number of numbers rounds and letters rounds.

Sorry.

Jojo, I'm sorry I misunderstood you there. Then again, I haven't received a reply to the introductory thread in quite some time!

Carol's memory will be coming in handy for today's news (from Teletext)!:

"Former Countdown number queen Carol Vorderman is to turn her hand to vowels and consonants and publish a "no holds barred" autobiography.

The 48-year-old left the long-running quiz after 27 years last summer amid reports Channel 4 asked her to take a 90% pay cut. She was relaced (sic) by 22-year-old Oxford graduate Rachel Riley.

Vorderman has promised to give the full story of her departure from the show."

I wonder if she'll also include her efforts to undermine her replacement and the show in general?

Just for balance, like.

Oh, so now I know you were joking when you reprimanded Damian the other day ;)
