I was saddened by the news today of the death of Wendy Richard. She was a great actress and a lovely lady. Was she ever on Dictionary Corner?
Used to love her as Miss Brahms in "Are You Being Served" and on the "Come outside" Single she made with Mike Sarne when she was 16 (Showing my age now)
Goodnight Wendy, we will miss you.

I loved watching "Are You Being Served" (and Eastenders for a bit ) and I can't believe that Wendy has died.AnnieHall wrote:I was saddened by the news today of the death of Wendy Richard. She was a great actress and a lovely lady. Was she ever on Dictionary Corner?

I don't think though Wendy was ever a guest in DC, but she would've been a good one .
Re: R.I.P. Wendy
IIRC I seem to remember her being very good on 'Call My Bluff' and 'Just A Minute', so would've been excellent in DC.
A sad loss indeed. I also loved 'Are You Being Served' as a child, and one of my sons became a fan watching it on UKGold.
I watched 'Eastenders' religiously from the start in 1985 till Dirty Den's return (2003/4?), which seemed to be rather far fetched, and I also became a bit fed up of the miserableness of the storylines. Much prefer the more affable Coronation Street.
I digressed a bit, but yes, she gave a lot of pleasure to a lot of people in the roles she played, and will be sorely missed.

Wasn't it Joe, who killed Wendy's character off in Eastenders?Jon O'Neill wrote:Sonia did it.

I was talking about real life. Not sure about the program though.

I was sad to hear this, too.
I thought it was left under the radar, but then again I don't always get my UK news!
I think she was on "Blankety Blank!"
Yes, a sad loss it is, indeed.
