Hi all,

Did anyone else notice that Rachel selected the wrong choice of Vowel or Consonant for 3 letters all in one game ?????!!!!!

Being in mind it’s recorded I can’t believe it wasn’t noticed and recording stopped. Rachel hesitated on the 7th letter when I think she realised she had made a mistake.

I’ve watched Countdown in the past and have watched it everyday since I retired early last year but do not recall having seen such a huge error.

Be interested to read other viewers thoughts.

Letters round 8. Consonant R, Consonant T, vowel E, and another ‘C’ (error 1) and a third, ‘L’ (error 2), and a consonant ‘U’ (error 3) and on the next letter (vowel A) Rachel hesitates as if she has noticed her errors.

Paul is absolutely right – she makes three consecutive mis-draws and them clearly realises this via her body language and hesitation.

The Countdown Team eventually sent me a Countdown mug as a gesture of thanks when I emailed them that last series a contestant had chosen 6 vowels. Just saying!

It used to mildly grind my gears when Carol would guess what a contestant would pick next by putting her hand over one letters box, only for the contestant to choose the other. Sounds like Rachel raised the game.

I'm definitely going to watch this back and I'm looking forward to it. So if anything she's raised the game beyond the grinding of gears.

As some viewers eloquently put it when Dr Tom Crawford did it when Rachel was away, he didn’t stick his hands in the boxes; he waited for the contestant’s answer before drawing the card so that he didn’t mis-draw. He was slower but more certain.

Also known as round 11! But yeah, an "interesting" episode.

Do we seek the death penalty or is this more of a ten years hard labour sort of affair?

I think this whole affair shows that it matters not a jot which order you select your 4 vowels and 5 consonants in (if anyone dares deviate from that ratio I'll be having words). Kinda like it matters not a jot which of the 2 cheeks of the same backside you vote for in a democracy.
