Is it a tactical thing on her part to just go for 3V? And if so are you saying it’s just bad tactics?Ian Fitzpatrick wrote: ↑Wed Jun 11, 2025 9:28 am She also needs to try having more than three vowels more often!
I doubt it's tactical. 4 vowels is generally the best for longer words, which would normally be considered better. It would take quite a specific scenario to decide to make the selections worse and it certainly wouldn't be most rounds.Jon Stammers wrote: ↑Thu Jun 12, 2025 9:14 amIs it a tactical thing on her part to just go for 3V? Thought it was interesting a few days before this episode Amy (I think) did 'risk' 2 large, and Rachel implied it wasn't much of a risk. 2 large has always been my most difficult selection, so much so I'd never even risk it!Gavin Chipper wrote: ↑Thu Jun 12, 2025 9:19 am Same as contestants who aren't strong at numbers going for 2 large thinking it might be easier.
Whereas it's a different approach with 3L and 4L (and 6S), which usually means it's harder for my opponent too. With 2L I'm more likely to lose because of the chance my opponent picked the right way to go!Fred Mumford wrote: ↑Sat Jul 05, 2025 9:16 am Any computer analysis will tell you that 2 large is the easiest selection, but for humans it can indeed be tricky because with 1 large there is an obvious first plan of attack whereas with 2 large it's not always obvious where to start.
It's the Lotus 77 of number selections.
