Nice and straightforward from our champion Neil with his 1 away solution that bags him 7 points..................our challenger Joanne doesn't even get close............but Ms Riley shows us how it is done by producing perfect 10 and using the omelette method !

Nice and straightforward..........but not taxing allows our challenger Joanne to extend her lead even further with everything still to play for !

Neither contestant solves this numbers game this can only mean one thing that Joanne is the new champion..............now before we end the days business we have the small matter of this numbers game that needs to be solved..................Ms Riley shows us how it is done by using the omlette method...................for those of you who are new to Countdown it means you have to use all the numbers in some cases but not all of them

No one buzzes. The answer was FIREPLACE.
Final Score: 60–71 (max 121)

Neither contestant spots the conundrum however it is left to a certain Rachel Riley and our recap writer to pick up the slack.............firstly congratulations to Joanne on becoming the new champion and the newest member of the teapot club...........secondly take nothing away from Neil........will his points total be enough for the series 90 finals ?
