Spoilers for Wednesday 30th October 2024 (Series 90, Heat 81)
Round 6: 2 large can be meddling, but if you divide the target by 2 it becomes easier
236 / 2 = 118
So
(75 + 50 - 7) * 2 = 236
236 / 2 = 118
So
(75 + 50 - 7) * 2 = 236

I thought it was a bit weird they didn't explain SUMMERED and everyone acted like it was just a normal word.

Only 8% obscurity according to Apterous.Gavin Chipper wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2024 2:43 pm I thought it was a bit weird they didn't explain SUMMERED and everyone acted like it was just a normal word.

Yeah that's BS though. When I looked it up I was like "Oh yeah, birds summer in places" but seeing it in isolation I was ??? and I wasn't the only one in my household.Philip A wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2024 2:50 pmOnly 8% obscurity according to Apterous.Gavin Chipper wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2024 2:43 pm I thought it was a bit weird they didn't explain SUMMERED and everyone acted like it was just a normal word.

"Wintered" is probably more commonly used, and summered is (I would presume) the direct opposite. Nothing was edited out for that one IIRC, it was treated as needing no explanation.

Thanks for the info. Having Googled it, most of the top matches are dictionary entries and a couple of sites discussing the word. None of it being used as a word.

For comparison, POTHOLE has an obscurity of 69% and is considered rare. 8% corresponds to ubiquitous. I don't know how Apterous calculates these numbers but they're way off.Gavin Chipper wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2024 2:53 pmYeah that's BS though. Yeah that's what I thought. You can have SPRINGED, SUMMERED, WINTERED but don't think you can have autumned???
Re: Spoilers for Wednesday 30th October 2024 (Series 90, Heat 81)

If Apterous thinks "pothole" is rare, then it clearly isn't a car driver.Gavin Chipper wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2024 5:18 pmFor comparison, POTHOLE has an obscurity of 69% and is considered rare. 8% corresponds to ubiquitous.
