Co:Liv III - Saturday 15 February 2025
DATE: Saturday 15 February 2025
LOCATION: Cross Keys pub, 13 Earle Street, L3 9NS.
It's the same place as both last year and back in 2019.
The room can fit 36, maybe 39 or 42 at a push.
FORMAT: Edinburgh/Lincoln style, six 9-rounder games played in tables of three.
The top two ranked players after six games will play the final.
SCHEDULE:
- Doors open at 12 for a 12:20 draw and 12:30 start to the first round of games
- Aiming for 13:30 for buffet lunch which will be included in your entry price
- Then 14:30 for the second round of games
- 15:40 for the third round of games
- Aiming for 16:50 for the final and 17:15 for prizes and wrap-up
- Plans afterwards to be confirmed but I have a few ideas in mind.
PRIZES AVAILABLE:
- Trophies for first, second and third place finishes
- Fun prizes for most conundrums, best word, and rudest word.
PayPal - £12 to https://paypal.me/CoLiv2019/12GBP (the year is correct - it won't let me update the link!)
Facebook event created now and there are 26 fully paid entrants so far as of 12 February plus a couple of reserves.
If anyone needs directions, hotel advice, etc., then let me know. The nearest train station is Moorfields. James Street is quite close as well.
Woop woop get hype.

Just did a 3 tourney weekeneder @ CoLin and I am still recovering. Also it's the day after valentines day and I didn't want to bugger off to the other end of the country to leave my partner alone.Andy Platt wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 12:52 pm Is anyone thinking about coming but holding back for any reason? Atropine has always included the final in the exported text/html/whatever results, for as long as I can remember.Gavin Chipper wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 1:56 pmThis always used to be a problem. I thought there had been some Atropine update so it automatically came out in the dump. Who won is probably the main thing.
However, entering the final into Atropine in the first place is very often not bothered with. From the organiser's point of view, at the end of the event it's less important to create a whole new round for the final and enter that result, than to enter the other results. And when it's time to export the results as text and paste them into C4C, it's easy to forget that the final isn't there.
Not sure how we can mitigate that other than a warning on the results export page reminding the user "Was there a final? If so, you haven't entered the result."

In that case, I'm not sure why it hasn't shown up in the output pasted above. Even if you select "show positions before final" that option only affects the displayed standings table. It still includes the final in the exported results.

Re: Co:Liv III - Saturday 15 February 2025
It's possible I imagined the update thing. But you could have that warning thing anyway. I also think the winner of the event should get top billing. Instead of having to scroll down to the bottom, it should say right at the top "John won the event" and if there was a final "beating Cuthbert in the final 98-73". I've never found the results dump satisfactory for this reason.Graeme Cole wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 2:36 pmAtropine has always included the final in the exported text/html/whatever results, for as long as I can remember.Gavin Chipper wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 1:56 pmThis always used to be a problem.
