Thanks for your detailed bug report, I'll be sure to fix this.

Specifically, Ben didn't seem to receive my challenges, nor I his. The first two games were fine but in game 3 the lag rendered things close to unplayable, it hung at the end of two different rounds forcing a CTRL-ALT-DEL, after the second of these the game was gone.

Apologies if it sounded snarky as I know you're working to improve things, but I just assumed they were similar to the general difficulties people are having playing apterous atm. For me its near impossible to play when 10+ games are in progress.

It's been over a week since the semi was aborted at the 3rd leg stage. Get your fingers out guys, Junaid's already asked me if we can just forget the final... ;)

Game 1: http://apterous.org/viewgame.php?game=48051

Game 2: http://apterous.org/viewgame.php?game=48060

Game 3: http://apterous.org/viewgame.php?game=52503

A slightly harsh result for Ben as he was slightly ahead after 8 rounds in the original game 3. Thanks for an enjoyable set of games.

Bring it, Junaid Mubeen

I can, let it be done. I'll try to be online at 8 if that suits.

Er...Paul Howe didn't turn up :(

I'm tied up the next few days but can probably do Thursday evening, or next weekend.

Sorry mate, our power's been down all evening and only just come back on

If it's not tempting fate next Sunday at 8 would probably be the best time for me.

The grand final as it happened....

http://apterous.org/viewgame.php?game=61612

http://apterous.org/viewgame.php?game=61619

http://apterous.org/viewgame.php?game=61623

http://apterous.org/viewgame.php?game=61637

Thanks Junaid for an excellent battle, especially for the ridiculously sporting offer of adding 7 points onto my score when I mistyped DIURNAL (which I bashfully declined).

Yeah, well played Paul Howe. A worthy winner. I'm naturally gutted as I had 2 real chances to clinch it. Game 5 was a non event for me after round 1 (yes, I considered ordinance). Ah, well. I superceded my expectations in the tourny and final by a long way. And I'm still unbeaten on numbers in tournament play. Bring on CONOT!!!

Thanks to Ben for organising and Paul Howe for a great final (if not the highest quality).

Congratulations to Paul for winning the tournament for the second year in a row, and commiserations to Junaid- still, as you say, CONOT is just 6 days away and all will be to play for there...

Incidentally this is the first 'long-running' tournament played exclusively on Apterous- surely that's got to be worth a special item of some sort, Charlie? ;)
