I think my favourite part is the rather obvious drop at 3-4pm.

But why is it so sporadic in the later evening? Is it due to breaks in TV shows? Or a frankly amateurish approach to statistics which has only taken one day's data? Or even better still, perhaps it is down to the intermittent working of Apterous?

More likely that the trend is much flatter in the evening so the noise is more obvious. And it would take a frankly amateurish approach to graph interpretation to conclude it was a single day's sample, after observing the scale of the y-axis.

Oops... I'll retreat back into my cave of embarassed mistakes now... my bad... although there could have been an exceptional day in my defence :P

Just out of interest, how do you get this data? Could you do a similar one for posts on this forum?

The main board index says how many posts there are in total, so if you had no life you could check it on the hour for a few days to see how much the number increased by each time.

Or you could not care.
