Fantastic game between two people who deserve to be finalists - even this early on.
Fiona appeared a long time ago here :

Was a great player then and doesn't look like she's skipped a beat

Yes, a very good game.
I find it helps to break the target figure down like so:
896 / 8 = 112
112 / 4 = 28
28 = 4 * 7
Therefore,
4 * 4 * 7 * 8 = 896
That’s four of the six cards drawn.
I use the bus stop method.

What's the bus stop method? Is that a rival to the standard method?

It's a method that is taught in schools to work out division sums. Say in this case, the sum is working out how many 8s go into 896, then the 8 would be placed at the side of the "bus stop", with the 896 underneath it. You then work out how many 8s go into 8, so 1, then 8s into 9, 1 but with a remainder 1 which is carried over, and placed before, the 6, meaning that you work out how many 8s go into 16, making 2. You'd then look at the number on the top, which would be 112 from the calculations, thus revealing the answer.

Yeah, I think that's just the standard method for division but with a fancy name.

I remember watching this nonsense on TOTP!
Edit - Also the song that was just finishing was Where Are You by Imaani, the UK's Eurovision entry from 1998 (also
proof of how the UK was more popular in Eurovision back then). The guy rapping from Bus Stop is Daz Sampson, who did the UK's 2006 Eurovision entry.

This is pretty much what I did, saw immediately that it was 112 x 8 so just looked to make the 112 from the remaining numbers, looked at the 6 first and got nowhere then tried 4 x 7 x 4 and got quite a surprise that it was 112. Then spent 20 seconds checking it over and over again and I was still not totally convinced when I gave my method.

It was good to see two contestants who both originally played with Richard Whiteley as host.

I think I checked this at the time. Not on Apterous so presumably not valid.

I started the same way but then did
112 / 2 = 56
56 / 7 = 8 (4 + 4)
Great match btw!
