Round 2: R T S I E A P F I
Marrianne: PASTIER (7)
Phil: PARTIES (7)
DC: APERITIFS (18)
OT: PARTIFIES (18)
Score: 15–15 (max 26)
7s all round............but DC get to shine with their 9 Aperitifs.........you guessed I spotted this one...............there was another 9 with Partifies sadly you don't get any extra points for spotting it
Round 3: 50, 3, 8, 1, 8, 2. Target: 712.
C1: 709. (8 + 3 × 2) × 50 + 8 + 1 (7)
C2: 708.
RR: 712. (((3 + 2) × 8) + 50 − 1) × 8 (10)
Score: 22–15 (max 36)
A decent solve from the Champion that bags her 7 points.........meanwhile if you pay attention to your 8 times just like my solution you could bag yourself 10 points !
50*2=100
8+3=11
100-11=89
89*8=712
Teatime teaser: CRAGJOIN -> JARGONIC

C1: 406.
C2: 402. (9 − 6 + 5) × 8 + 2 (10)
Score: 29–39 (max 62)
The deadlock is now broken with our champion Marrianne declaring 4 away.........but our challenger gets it spot on and takes the lead in this rather tight contest...........but I found a less complicated way of getting there

400+2=402
Round 7: G N D E A E N Y G
Marrianne: denny
Phil: NAGGED (6)
DC: ENGAGED (7)
Score: 29–45 (max 69)
A rather risky 5 that Susie disallows............no nagging from Phil as his 6 Nagged..........meanwhile over in DC they are otherwise engaged as their 7

DC: IMPALES (7)

Marrianne: CLEARS (6)
Phil: failers
DC: RADICLES (8)
OT: DESCRIAL (8) RADICELS (8)
Score: 54–71 (max 127)
Can our champion pull off a last gasp comeback ??????? as Phil's 7 is disallowed by Susie.......DC get to shine with their 8 Radicles .....14 is the difference so let's see how the next round plays out
Round 14: 25, 50, 2, 5, 5, 10. Target: 515.
C1: 515. 50 × 10 + (5 × 2) + 5 (10)
C2: 515. 50 × 10 + (5 × 2) + 5 (10)
Score: 64–81 (max 137)
Sadly no.................this numbers is nice and straightforward not too taxing.........sadly for our champion Marrianne it is game over
Round 15: T O U G H S I D E
C2 buzzes on 8 seconds to say DOUGHIEST which is correct.
Final Score: 64–91 (max 147)
A fine solve from our Challenger Phil who will be occupying the champions tomorrow for the pentultimate game of Series 89..........take nothing away from Marrianne she will be satisfied with her one win and the teapot............you can join me again to see how Phil gets on.......in the meantime it is bye for now
