Round 1: H S N A E I B O Z

Andy: honies
Liz: BEANS (5)
DC: BONSAI (6)
OT: BONEISH (7)
Score: 0–5 (max 7)

An early lead for our challenger Liz with her 5 Beans.......not much variety in Andy's 6 as Susie disallows it...........it is specified as Honeys not Honies........over in DC they come up with a Tree-mendeous 6 with Bonsai which is a variety of Japanese tree that takes a lot of looking after !

Image

Mr Miyagi Daniel's friend and mentor who trained him for the all valley championship after the titular character was bullied by Johnny and his gang of Cobra Kais, he was taught karate using muscle memory techniques by doing unorthodox chores such as wax on wax off.........he was portrayed the late great Pat Morita

Image

Miyagi Do Karate the single Dojo that defanged the Cobra kais in the all valley karate championships with just one student Daniel LaRusso

Image

Daniel LaRusso defeating star pupil and lead bully Johnny Lawrence from the Cobra Kai dojo in the all valley Karate championships with the crane technique that Mr Miyagi taught his student................this was used again in the finale of the 5th season of Cobra Kai when Daniel defeats the evil sensei Terry Silver and brings him down

7s all round............quite a few 8s hidden away in this selection of letters one of those was spotted by DC with Oleander

Round 3: 100, 3, 8, 2, 9, 10. Target: 134.

C1: 135.
C2: 134. 3 × 10 + 8 ÷ 2 + 100 (10)

5s all round..........there were a fair few 6s hidden away none which were spotted by anybody

Round 6: 50, 10, 7, 9, 3, 8. Target: 692.

C1: -
C2: 693. Mistake in working.
RR: 692. (10 − 3 + 7) × 50 − 8 (10)
Score: 17–27 (max 48)

Both contestants blank this round..........but Ms Riley shows us how it is done by producing a perfect 10

Round 7: D O S Q T I A E N

Andy: TOADIES (7)
Liz: SEDATION (8)

Round 8: R O P A C E L D U

Andy: clouder
Liz: PARCEL (6)
DC: LEOPARD (7) COUPLED (7) CROUPADE (8)
OT: CUPOLAED (8) OPERCULA (8) PALOURDE (8) POULARDE (8)
Score: 17–41 (max 64)

Not a great round from Andy as his 7 is disallowed by Susie........our challenger is delivering the goods with her 6 Parcel..........but there were a few 8s hidden away one of those was spotted by with Croupade.

Round 9: 25, 4, 3, 2, 6, 4. Target: 682.

C1: 688. (4 + 3) × 4 × 25 − 6 × 2 (5)

Andy: REFINER (7)
Liz: inline
OT: FIERIER (7) RELINER (7) RIFELER (7)

Liz: MATURE (6)
DC: TEMPURA (7) MOUNTER (7) REMOUNT (7)
OT: EMPATRON (8) MANUPORT (8)
Score: 36–41 (max 89)

Is the turning point that our champion Andy needs.............there is now 5 points between the champion and challenger .......a couple of interesting 8s hidden away Empatron was my spot

Round 12: S I T A Y I R J A

Andy: SITAR (5)
Liz: SATAY (5)
DC: SATYR (5) TIARAS (6)
OT: RAIYATS (7)
Score: 41–46 (max 96)

Not the best set of letters in this round...........DC do well to get a 6 in this round but there was a rather interesting 7 hidden away with Raiyats

Image

Round 13: M E U D T I L S O

Andy: DILUTES (7)
Liz: mudiest
DC: MOULDIEST (18) OUTSMILED (18)
OT: METULOIDS (18) MUSTELOID (18)
Score: 48–46 (max 114)

Quite a few 9s in this rather nice selection of letters............Mouldiest was the one that I spotted

Round 14: 75, 3, 6, 1, 6, 2. Target: 100.

C1: 99. (3 + 1) × 6 + 75 (7) *Russell's numbers declaration of 99 in Round 14 is the lowest declaration that has ever scored points, and the only successful declaration with two digits, However Rachel gets to shine with her solution and produces a perfect 10..........it can mean one thing a crucial conundrum

C2: 104.
RR: 100. 75 ÷ 3 × (6 − 2) (10)
Score: 55–46 (max 124)

This can only mean on the thing.........we have ourselves a crucial conundrum.........now the question is who will buzz first will it be Andy for his second win or Liz for her first win and the teapot ?

Final Score: 55–56 (max 134)

What a cracking contest this has been........rather scrappy at times, firstly congratulations to Liz on her first win and beoming the newest member of the teapot club........secondly take nothing away from Andy he will be happy with his one win and the teapot.....join me again to see if Liz can get her second win.......it is so long farewell Auf wiedersehen....Goodbye !!
