There was a £100 question on Who Wants to Be A Millionaire once where the answer was His Nibs. Nope, never heard of it. Woulda have to have lifelined.

Wasn't there a cartoon strip in The Beano called "His Nibs" about a group of mice?

There may well have been, but I am neither a comics guy nor of the Beano generation. Just never heard of that phrase, guess it's more ubiquitous than I would ever have thought.

Apparently, it was called "The Nibblers" and the head mouse was called His Nibs.

Yeah def one I heard a lot growing up. Used for someone (male obv) who expected to by waited on - "see if his nibs wants a cup of tea"

Maybe their is a threshold for the saying
