Hello Countdowners and welcome to another recap, today is international cat day, for all you cat lovers in the world here is a small selection of celebrities who are cat lovers, as I am a cat lover myself and cat mummy to my furbabies Freddie ( named after Freddie Mercury ) and his sister Callie. Here is my tribute to all the cat lovers in the world.......Happy International cat day !

Ailurophile: Somebody who loves cats

Image

The late Freddie Mercury the ultimate cat daddy himself.......he had 10 cats that had their own bedroom at his Kensington Mansion. He treated his furbabies like children usually around Christmas time when he always lavished gifts and treats on his 10 kitties that had their own Christmas stocking, when Freddie was away on tour or recording an album he used to ring home so he could speak to his cat ! Freddie even wrote a song about his favourite cat called Delilah which the other members of Queen hated ! I wanted to call my girl kitty Delilah but my son and husband objected !

Image

The most unlikliest cat lover, Sir Anthony Hopkins who played serial killer Hannibal Lecter in the 1991 smash hit Silence of the Lambs that was the 5th highest grossing film of 1991, this bagged him a best actor Oscar the following year, he reprised his role in the 2001 hit Hannibal that was the 10th highest grossing film in the same year of it's release.

Image

The late German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld who left his entire fortune to his cat Choupette............at least she will have plenty of money in her kitty for food and treats !!!!!!

The late Patrick Swayze and his widow Lisa Niemi with their furbabies

The Queen of Pop Madonna spending time with her kitty

Image

Last but not least animal rights and animal welfare advocate. The former Smiths frontman Morrissey a big cat lover and a huge supporter of PETA

My two kitties love these ! as did my late cat Ginge who always waited outside the kitchen door until I opened his treats cupboard !
