Countdown returns to the party town! Yes, this September, come and stay for a weekend of letters, numbers and illuminations. Here’s what you need to know…

Date: Co:Blackpool will take place on Saturday 16th September. Doors open at 10:30, and the round 1 draw will take place at 11:15. Please aim to arrive for this time. The rough schedule is below:
Round 1 – 11:30
Lunch – 12:45
Round 2 – 13:45
Round 3 – 15:00
Grand final – 16:30
Prizegiving – 17:00

Address: The Wainwright Club, 173 Hornby Road, Blackpool, FY1 4RD (Thanks to Mark for arranging this venue)
The venue is fully accessible and is a 15 minute walk from the promenade, in the centre of Blackpool. Plenty of free parking on site, you will have to enter your car registration inside. Lunch is not provided so you may bring your own, or alternatively the venue is just a 5 minute walk away from outlets including Tesco Express and Subway.

Format: Lincoln style (tables of 3), six 9-rounder games. 9-rounder grand final
In each of the 3 rounds, you will play 2 games and host 1 other. The draw for round 1 is random, then in the next two rounds you will be matched with others who have scored similarly to you. Don’t worry if round 1 doesn’t go too well, everyone should get some well-matched games by the afternoon!

Staying over? There are many B&Bs/hotels to choose from, starting from £30/night at time of writing. Hornby Road itself has several options, which would place you both a short walk from the venue and the promenade!

Transport: Blackpool North train station is a mile walk from the venue, and has regular services to Preston, Liverpool, and Manchester.

Exercise: The local parkrun has been a hit at the last two co-events! Stanley Park is only a kilometre from the venue, though you may want to shower first :D

Other plans: The exciting news is that we have the venue until 11pm, so the plan will be to have karaoke on-site! Plans for Friday night and the post-event food will be revealed soon. On Sunday morning, we will most likely be heading to the arcades to see which cute stuffed animals we can win this year.

Admission: Entry to the event costs £10, which you can pay via this link: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/BradleyHorrocks/10. Make sure you select friends and family please! Other methods of payment can be arranged, just send me a message.

Important update with latest details:

1. We have booked Mr Basrai's, in the town centre, for our evening meal on Saturday, at 6:45pm. 15 min walk from the event venue. The menu is here: https://www.mrbasrai.com/menus/ There should be something for everyone. There is a flat £22/person charge, £2 payable to me on the day and the rest to the restaurant. I will need to confirm numbers for that pretty soon, so if you aren't on this alphabetical list but want to be, let me know ASAP!

Adam Latchford, Alan Jones, Bradley Horrocks, Callum Todd, Coral Heath, Fiona Titcombe, James Robinson, Mark Mills, Mike Brailsford, Mike Springett, MSR, Phil Stanton, Richard Priest, Steven Grady, Tasneem Rana, Thomas Carey, Tracey Mills: (17)

2. The plan for the Saturday night has been revised, as particularly with the firework display, it would not make sense to return to the venue for such a short time.

Friday: No formal plans - most likely pub, walk in meal, amusements/more pub
Saturday: (parkrun), event, freshening up/drinking time, meal, fireworks, bar/Gaeity's
Sunday: amusements and goodbyes

If there's anything else of note, I'll be sure to share in the next week!
